OK: Former Oklahoma state senator pleads guilty to child sex trafficking charge

[thehill.com]

A former Oklahoma state senator has pleaded guilty to a child sex trafficking charge, The Oklahoman reported Saturday.

Former state Sen. ______, a Republican, had been accused of offering to pay a 17-year-old boy for sexual “stuff” earlier this year. Federal prosecutors will drop three additional child pornography charges against him in exchange for his guilty plea.

“It is in my best interest and in the best interest of my family,” the former state senator wrote in plea deal paperwork signed this week, according to the Oklahoman.

Oh man oh manischewitz. We got em. Oh my god have we got em. The republicans are the ones doing the sex trafficking. Let’s see his affiliations with Chris Smith. Let this sink in everyone. The republicans are the ones doing the sex trafficking here.

A person who ISN’T on the registry is charged for trafficking? That is AMAZING that someone who ISN’T on the registry is charged for trafficking. What are the chances that someone who ISN’T on the registry would get charged for trafficking? Should I go on?

Will he be required to be a Registered Sex Offender? Or will he avoid registration like I suspect Anthony Weiner will.

Well, at least he was practicing safe sex………..:-p

How is meeting up with someone through Craigslist for a sexual encounter “sex trafficking”? I thought trafficking was holding people against their will and forcing or coercing them into having sex with others for compensation. Pretty sure a craigslist hookup doesn’t qualify.

Also, the age of consent in some states is 16 – don’t know about Oklahoma. But if the age of consent in Oklahoma is 16 or 17, what crime was committed? Prostitution maybe, but trafficking sounds like a bit of a stretch.
