Orange County’s Vicious Dogs Could Land on Online Database Like Registered Sex Offenders

The county Board of Supervisors gave the initial nod Tuesday to essentially creating a Megan’s Law-type list for vicious dogs. Megan’s Law provided the online database for registered sex offenders. So just think of the new proposed site like that. Only with dangerous pooches.

The supervisors voted 4-0 to tentatively approve changes to the county’s ordinance regulating vicious dogs to allow for the database. A final vote is scheduled for Oct. 1. Full Article

Wait a minute – the dogs get an individual hearing before being declared a vicious dog, a menace to society and put on the web site??? And I must have missed the part (in the ordinance language) where they are no longer allowed to enter public parks.

Can this be used to construct an Equal Protection argument? Sheeeeesh…

If these whacko’s keep up this weekend utter stupidity then I’m afraid this country is going to tear itself apart. On one side, we have this totalitarian, warrior-like, artificial patriotism, where people live in a utopian dream world where anyone convicted of even the slightest infraction is a “criminal”, or an “evil-doer”. On the other side, we have people like Nancy Skinner, Toni Atkins, or Tom Ammiano who see through it all and want to effect change, yet there is only so much they can do.

In between them all, there are only two kinds of people in this world – those who have the money for a good attorney and those who don’t. The legal system needs an overhaul, in my opinion. The first thing we need to do is socialize it – think about it, the state has unlimited resources to prosecute and appeal. The defendant is limited by what is in his bank account. The DA is paid by the government, the judge is paid by the government, the cops, the legislature, the bailiff…etc…all on government pay. When you put it in that perspective it sort of feels like a setup, don’t it.

Imagine if private attorneys were setup like Medicare coverage. You have a share of cost, like 1-10%, based on financial need. Law school feels are capped to stem the rising costs of student loans to help attorneys keep their hourly costs manageable. And the government must provide coverage all the way to appeal. Then we setup government-sponsored workshops, open to public, that teach people everything from 4th and 5th Amendment rights to child safety and firearm safety. And for those guys out there who really struggle with fixations of children, reduced sentences and corrective counseling, so that their condition is treated, just like any other medical condition. Only the really high-risk cases would warrant civil commitment. The evaluation tools would need an overhaul as well. But socializing the legal system would give a far fairer chance and put everyone on an even keel.

Until then, expect more registries. Garbage-stealing Racoon, Squirrel and Rodent Registry. Reckless Driving Registry. Politicians Caught Sexting Registry. Unreturned Library Book Offender Registry. Gross Polluter Registry. Unpaid Parking Ticket Registry. Obesity Registry. Poverty Level Registry. It goes on and on…

No we didn’t light it,
But we tried to fight it.”

These Orange county leaders should stop trying to create Disneyland everywhere and grow up.

All the people who think these draconian and not well thought out laws don’t affect them are fooling themselves; and this is proof. All the fools that hate us had better wake up and smell the roses. These people who think up these laws and use them for their own personal gain (re election, feel good, etc) are obviously thinking of ways to apply this oppression to other yet to be created classes of people. Non RSO’s need to take up the fight against these unconstitutional laws before they get swallowed up and destroyed, like so many of us have been. The U.S.A. is no longer the land of the free unless you are of a certain class. Talk about oppression; the U.S.A has 5% of the world’s population and 25% of the worlds prisoners. It seems the fool’s are looking to increase the percentage of our population that is in their prisons. It is the people that think up and enact these unconstitutional laws and ordinance’s that are the threat to society. They are destroying the very foundations of America and convincing the masses with their lies that what they do (attack & destroy freedom)is good. And the fools believe it.

This just in from the depths of my imagination: Orange County supervisors vote 4 to 0 to require local art college to remove or cloth naked statues of women on the campus grounds. Citing studies that show rape goes up 60% when men view naked bodies, backers of the ordinance claim that free expression must take a back seat to public safety. Note: I am just kidding. Please tell me it’s not true.
