A group of tattooed male deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department who called themselves the “Banditos” allegedly sexually harassed female trainees and demanded sexual favors as part of initiation, according to a report by NBC News.
Guadalupe Lopez, who was assigned to the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s station in Boyle Heights beginning in 2011, is seeking unspecified damages. Full Article
Probably this is the last we’ll hear about this, a little cover-up here, a little coersion there, maybe some threats, payoffs and “on-going” investigations until the heat dies out.
I would, however, dance a jig and shout with joy if these (and all) bad cops lost their jobs and benefits and were put on a lifetime registry like all the little people. Seems like LE is getting much, much worse these days.
What? A sex offender in law enforcement? No…but they exist to enforce the laws not break them. I don’t believe it for a second…PLEASE just like the military, law enforcement is full of stupid people with issues and mental problems.
Here is a clear example. Of course, most likely nothing will come of it.
Remember the article over in SOSEN “Who really commits new sex crimes”? That article clearly pointed out with data from empirical sources that cops are the most likely to commit new sex crimes. Just do a Google search and you’ll see. Of course the lame stream media rarely reports on these crimes, and when they do they are usually buried deep within the paper.
It would be interesting to know how they got away with “gang” accouterments before this happened. The clothing, tats, and name clearly indicate a gang mentality.
This I learned from my offence: those with power over others are more likely to abuse, than those who share equal control. It is not surprising to me that those in authority, older relatives, church authorities, politicians and law enforcement are the main offenders, and strangers pose the least danger. All people in authority need a crash course in empathy and to make it part of their modus operandi and not just because of the possibility of sexual abuse. I’m thinking now of the homeless man in New Mexico who was killed by law enforcement for simply turning his back. When you are in power you have a responsibility to those in positions of weakness. That’s were the danger lies.
