A Florida sex offender, who claimed asylum in Saskatchewan, has been granted protected person status. In 2008, ____ ____ was convicted of having unlawful sex with a minor. According to American media reports, the boy was 16-years-old and played on her son’s baseball team.

The US respects human rights???? Safe country???? That’s news to me. If I could find someplace to give me asylum I’d have been outta here years ago.
OH. MY. GOD!!!! I remember reading about this a few years ago. I recently wondered what happened to this lady. I even tried searching and…nothing. I’m SO glad she was granted asylum. BRAVO, CANADA!!!!!!!!!

This strikes me as really odd that Canada did this. I understand that after the full review, it was determined that because of the age involved and the woman was not in oversight or supervisor capacity, it is not an offense in Canada.
Still, in the thread about registrants being barred from entering so many countries now, people say Canada is one of the worst, won’t let any registrants in at all. Yet, they will give sanctuary to a registrant?! Very odd. I gather if she had done her sentence and tried to travel to Canada, they won’t let her in; but if she skips out on the sentence and is a fugitive, she’s just the kind of person they want?! So then does this mean that all the registrants who did their time were just stupid, and I guess the real reason they are being barred from entering Canada is because they clearly are stupid?!
So, then, what can registrants really expect at the Canadian border — from the other thread, it sounds like registrants can expect to be denied entry — regardless of details about their offense or how minor a charge.
We should copy and paste this article to every website and facebook page that support the sex offender registry and do the same to every patriotic group in America like that of the American Legion, Elks and Lions club.
