Sex-crimes convict says registration has ruined his career, endangered his life

____ ____ lives a relatively quiet life in the San Luis Obispo County city of Grover Beach.

For 35 years he’s kept out of trouble, but his one conviction in 1979 for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14 continues to haunt him: He is required to register as a sex offender in California for the rest of his life, which has permanently branded him. He is limited in where he can live and where he can go due to restrictive state and local laws, which ____ said have also endangered his life. Full Article

Well, I don’t think the Megan’s law website protects anybody. The main purpose of the site seems to be, to enable deranged vigilante types to locate new victims. Such web sites should be made illegal.

I feel the tide is going to turn..very soon. Thank you Frank for putting yourself out there for all of us.

This is clearly (for anyone who has their eyes open AND WHO DOESN’T HAVE something to gain) cruel and most unusual punishment!

If you are out of prison, have completed probation (and successfully been deemed to NOT be a threat) then you should be FREE!

Probation is a monitoring period and after that is over it is over.

Having to register is a life on probation and therefore, is no longer monitoring for any other reason than PUNISHMENT. Why, because just as with ANY CRIME if the perpetrator is still a risk they are still locked up – PERIOD!

So let’s cut the crap and call it what it is! PUNISHMENT

It is designed to be punishment…don’t allow the person to move on…what else you call it?

Take away their freedom of movement…take away their ability to get a job…to live where they wish. PUNISHMENT

Make it for life! Regardless if there was a victim…or it was a victim-less “crime”.

WHO IS THE REAL VICTIM HERE?

You go Frank! Thank you for being brave and standing up for all of us. You are helping so many of us. We support you!!

I’m still not very happy that Frank is labeled a “sex-crimes convict.” Come on! That sounds even worse than “sex offender!” Anyone who has had the privilege of knowing this man would attest that he is one of the kindest, most peaceful, and idealistic member of society. Frank is the kind of person that when you hang around him for awhile you start thinking about how you can live your life better, and how you can make the world a better place by looking in the mirror first.
