I was sixteen and i got convicted of a sex crime. I’m now 35, I never had a record ever until that day when two police officers came to my home and told me i was being accused of sleeping with a minor girl I was 17 then they took me in a small office and proceeded to tell me if i don’t confess they were going to put me away for life i was so scared the police officers grabbed my neck and slammed me down on the chair and hit me in my right ear which is messed up now.i thought i was young to die i was in fear for my life so i confessed to something i never did no dna nothing didn’t even read me my rights i did not no them anyhow,i got put in a mental hospital state pation hospital in San Bernardino. I got out and registered i violated my probation. And they gave me eight years with a strike i’ve done about 15 years all because i didn’t have a lawyer and a dna test now i’m off parole three years now and my daughter is 18 i’ve missed so much.while i was in i gave my life to god and now i want to make a difference to help i am innocent . As someone who was also forced into taking a plea on a crime I didn’t commit, I feel for you. The system as it is sucks. I’ve only been able to deal with this being how it is because of being part of a great church where I get a lot of support. I’m in a church where about half the members have done time(mostly for drugs/alcohol related) and don’t have issues with me though they know my situation. Find friends who can be a good support system for you, who take the time to get to know you and accept you as you are, and get involved here.
No offense, but if this occurred when you where 16, how could you be convicted of a crime regarding an underage girl? Plus, I don’t think the police are allowed to question you if your underage, without a parent present? Sorry, just trying to clarify
Uh, they convicted a minor for having sex with another minor? Uh, sure. Then, they came to you a year later and arrested you/that’s plausible. Then, they sent you to jail and into a mental hospital? They weren’t even doing this 20 years ago? Then, you were released and violated your parole? They then gave you 8 years for violating your parole? Or, did you violate your parole and commit another crime? No offense, but your story doesn’t make sense and anyone with any intellectual capital could or would read through the lines. I believe there are people on the registry who have been wrongly convicted! Furthermore, there are also many who should no longer remain. Although, I don’t believe either one of you and your story doesn’t make sense. We are discussing someone’s story, not as to rather your innocent or not or of the registry is garbage or not. Good luck guys, but I bet 1/100000 there is more to this story. I believe the storyteller is dishonest
