Doesn’t seem this suspect was on the sex offender registry. Couldn’t have been him then.

This sounds like exactly what they are doing. What would be the point of releasing “non-facts” and making a statement if they weren’t trying to manipulate the public in some fashion?? It’s a basic writer’s strategy: give just enough vague info so the “reader” can draw their own conclusions.
This way they still have something to charge and ruin a man, while at the same time essentially giving the green light to the public to say he also murdered the boy from 1989. Case closed as far as they are concerned. All that leads me to ask the question, “how could they have possibly gotten a search warrant unless they caught him in the act doing something?”
Without further information, it obviously looks like they are stringing him up?
Tunnel vision, investigations are not helpful and are, actually, is a disgrace to victims and victim’s families. LE search and investigate this guy, at the beginning, and found nothing. Now, they are trying fine something that will fit him in, which, is a distraction from looking for the real crook or crooks. All this is junk police work.
