UK: York man is banned from having sex unless he gives police 24 hours’ notice

A YORK man has been banned from having any form of sexual activity with a woman – unless he tells police 24 hours in advance. He is also subject to controls on his use of the internet and must tell the police about every phone and device that he has that he could use for accessing the internet or calling or texting people.

The restrictions are part of an interim sexual risk order and will continue until May 19, when York magistrates will decide whether to make a full order and if so, for how long. … Sexual risk orders are a civil order and can be made when the person concerned has not been convicted of a sexual offence. OMG! Coming soon to a neighborhood near you! The evolution of penalties…

What on earth did this man do? What in hell is a interim sexual risk order?!?!!

“They are used when someone has not been convicted of a sexual offence, but the police convince a court it is necessary for one to be made against the person to protect the public from him or her” WTF????

Sounds like the BS has been ratcheted up several notches over there across the pond!!

So if he has sex with men he doesn’t have to notify anybody? What about Pre-Op Transexuals?

Wait… A woman? So it’s only 1 woman he can’t have sex with?

No idea what is happening in this story. I do know it is ridiculous. Plus no person is going to want to have sex with this man once he explains why he wants their personal information prior to sex.

Something concerns me about this… not just the restrictions for sex… Lets go for any other offense, like alcohol .. The person would be banned from drinking, but also would be assigned to consoling and a “medical professional” to help the person with his/her alcohol problems… Ok with this in mind, what consoling and medical profession is this guy getting with this sex restriction? There are medical professions called surrogate sex counselors who working with a mental professional also… Why can’t we treat Register Citizens like alcoholics? Some Register Citizens might not have the skills or knowledge to navigate a healthy relationship? The government is too quick to restrict and punish, but not to heal or teach….

What is “person concerned has not been convicted of a sexual offence…” Is this a person with sexual transmitted diseases or is he really bad cook?

I wonder if, should he give notice and in the interim decide against it, he’d be in violation of his reporting requirement. Perhaps the government could or would compell him to follow through.

We really have reached a point of tragic comedy when legal authorities can concoct such a scheme and enforce it with a straight face. And I see they’re also adapt at reclassifying punishment as “civil” when a more accurate label presents conflicts.

If it were me, I’d get a friend to play along and I’d give notifications every 4-6 hours. I’d make every one of them jealous of all the action I’m getting.
