This would be already 3 cases that are sex offender related for SCOTUS right ?
Minnesota(this one), the case from Michigan and I forgot the 3rd one if there is one.
I hope they take this one too. This holding of people after they finished their sentence is preposterous and clearly punitive.
Kinda four. Packingham already under review (decision coming perhaps next month), then three cert requests for next term: Snyder, Werner v Wall (http://www.scotusblog.com/case-files/cases/werner-v-wall/), and now this one. I’d not be surprised if all three are accepted, but think Werner most likely of the three to be denied.
Werner v. Wall is directly about immunity for the State’s agents, but at heart is the issue of WHY Werner was affected: residency restrictions. I think SCOTUS will dodge the underlying issue and/or deal with it via Snyder.
I “scooped” this last night 🙂
