TN: Five year old autistic boy accused of being a sex offender

[mynbc5.com – 9/25/19]

According to WTVC, East Ridge Elementary said the child overstepped his boundaries, but the boy’s mother insists he doesn’t know any better.

Summery Putnam, Nathan’s mom, said she received a call from her son’s teacher about three weeks ago.

“I was sick to my stomach because first of all don’t you understand he’s a 5-year-old? He’s a child?” Putnam said. “The teacher called me and she said, ‘You need to have a talk with Nathan about boundaries.'”

Putnam said Nathan’s autism makes it difficult for him to understand social cues.

“If you don’t understand how autism works you’ll think he’s acting out or being defiant. But that’s not the situation,” she said.

Putnam said the teacher accused Nathan of sexual activities after she was told he hugged a child and kissed another child on the cheek.

Wow….what a joke society is becoming.
I hope they set an example with this out of touch and out of mind “Teacher”.
It’s situations like this that will deal the hardest haymaker to the Registry.
Thanks Teach!
I would laugh at this story but that little toddler of a human being and HIS mother…..notice (it’s a male being crucified) are going to be hurting over this for years to come.

5 F***ing years old???
So, hugging and kissing ON THE CHEEK are sex?????

This is FemiNazi BULLSHIT!!!! This is pure evil!!!!

This script could be flipped back at the school for NOT accommodating the autistic boy’s needs.

I agree with ReadyToFight that these types of accumulating incidents are going to reach a fever pitch that will force a new national narrative that the current definition of sex offender is really off-base.

The more individuals society puts away and label them as pariahs the more pushback this will result in the long view. I believe this growing population of sex offenders will create an ever louder voice that will one day influence great change in our flawed policies.

Hugging and kissing ? Deviant? Antisocial? Hype!

Where’s the public outcry to protect the children? This is truly sickening. As the grandparent of a six year old autistic boy, and knowing the uncalled for life-stigma of “sex labels,” this causes extreme concern. The community should be up-in-arms. Unfortunately, it will likely take legal action to force the school to: 1) Clear the record of the child; 2) discipline the teacher and 3)force all teachers in the district to take training when dealing with special needs children. If politicians are looking for a cause with legs… take this on and do some good for once.

Hugging and kissing on the cheek!? Lock that little sicko up before his deviance escalates to heavy petting!

This is sheer insanity. If there’s grounds for a lawsuit I hope the parents and child end up owning that school.

Wow, I guess I’ve been molesting grandma and mom for years without even knowing it! Our society truly has lost its mind, particularly in relation to anything sexual.

Reaching to a new level of stupid. Can I call law suite? These laws and actions prove one thing those on the registry really have no represention but yet must pay taxes. I propose a law suite against the state and federal gov’t to that effect. Under color of law we by the affects of being on the registry loose exponential rights even representation for protecting those rights ie. Going to shelters in national disasters, veterans not allowed barrial in national military cementaries, able to attend child’s school activities etc, etc….

I guess playing “house” 50 years ago when I was a preteen is what brought me down this path to becoming a registrant. Who’d of thought that shyly kissing my pretend wife on the cheek would make me sexually dangerous. I can now see that we must lock up all children that show any affection at an early age to stop them from becoming rapists in the future. – When will this madness ever end?

This one of the consequences when a society allows governmental abuse against the defenseless and “least of these” (societies lepers) for so long. The “normal” citizens end up as targets of the very thing they‘ve targeted and did nothing about it. Because, you know, “Not my kid!”
