Sacramento Caravan: #SayTheirNames & Bring Our Loved Ones Home on Thursday, August 13

[#SayTheirNames]

On Thursday, August 13 there will be a #SayTheirNames action at the CA Capitol Building followed by a car caravan to CDCR and a candlelight vigil at night to honor lives lost.

For details, read this Facebook page, and click on the graphic at the top of the page. For a schedule, scroll down the Facebook page.

Demand a #MoratoriumOnCovidBehindBars:
* HONOR the lives of those who have died from COVID-19 behind bars.
* EXPOSE how the state continues to threaten the lives of incarcerated people in overcrowded prisons.
* DEMAND that Governor Newsom, CDCR & the CA State Legislature take emergency action to decarcerate and save lives NOW!

Thank you for doing this. It makes me think that when all this craziness settles down that we should do something like this to bring attention to all the people on the registry that have been attacked and murdered. Bring attention to the fact that violent and unstable people are using the registry to exploit, assault, and even kill people on the registry without even knowing for sure what their crime entailed.

Respectfully, kind of confused on how this has to do with 290s. While it is definitely a sensitive subject, I think narratives for anything else are purely on other opinions. There are not many, if any, other cases that are posted that do not have to deal with situations of registered citizens.

    • SR @ Matthew

This is a 290 issue as well due to the fact that 290’s are 100% exempt from early release due to Covid-19 issues. Even if someone is currently serving time for something non-290 related, the fact that they have to register puts them automatically on the non-release list.
