The 2021 ACSOL Conference

Conference sign ups ended on Wednesday, September 15, at 11 p.m. (Pacific).

This year’s annual ACSOL virtual conference will be held on Friday, September 17, and Saturday, September 18.  The conference will feature distinguished keynote speakers as well as feature presentations by subject matter experts and panels on a variety of topics important to registrants and their families.

Keynote speakers include Jill Levenson, Ph.D., and attorney Miriam Aukerman.  Levenson has published dozens of articles that support registrants and their families, on topics including the ineffectiveness of registries and the myth that registrants pose a significant danger on Halloween.  During her presentation, Levenson will discuss “Post-Conviction Traumatic Stress; Recovery, Resilience and Restoring Hope.”  Aukerman is an ACLU attorney who successfully challenged Michigan sex offender laws that had been applied retroactively.  She will present: Update from Michigan: Lessons from Tens Years of Registry Litigation

“This year’s keynote speakers will provide registrants, their families and those who support them with important information and insight,” stated ACSOL Executive Director Janice Bellucci.

In addition to the keynote presentations, subject matter experts including criminal defense attorney Chance Oberstein of California will discuss topics of great concern to registrants and their loved ones, including the California Tiered Registry as well as domestic and international travel.  Panel presentations will include discussions of housing challenges and solutions, registrant success stories, family issues, the LGBTQ community and how to cope with conditions of parole, probation and supervised release.

Conference sign ups ended on Wednesday, September 15, at 11 p.m. (Pacific).

The cost for the two-day conference was only $25.

All sessions will be recorded for conference attendees to be able to view later, right?

Most, but not all, sessions will be recorded for conference attendees to view later. We are going to add that information to the conference schedule later today or early tomorrow. An example of someone who won’t be recorded is ACLU attorney Miriam Aukerman who does not want to reveal “private information” to her opposing counsel.

Unfortunately I cannot participate live and most interested in hearing Mrs Aukerman’s comments.

Can folks get a copy of the recorded conference if they weren’t able to make the 9/15 deadline?

I hope everyone, EVERYONE reading that care about all on here, will attend in one fashion or another post Conf. I will donating one more time so the others, some homeless some incomeless or strapped, can go, it’s SO IMPORTANT to hear and be a part of this GREAT CONFERENCE! Please try to make it, you’ll be missing out…otherwise. Keep in Touch, Read Frank’s and JANICE’s Books, learn more, keep up to date! It’s TOUGH AND ROUGH OUT THERE!
Thanks to The Board, Chance and of all JANICE B! and it were’nt for Frank and Plumbing!

Merci

Is this just about California?

ACSOL is a nationwide organization and therefore the conference will address nationwide issues.

I live on the East coast, but I always tune in to the conference when posted. I still listen to past conferences when I need a pick me up or when educating family members. I even let them read Janice’s book. Most had no clue how crazy the laws have become and actually have taken part in the cause. In fact some will be headed to Washington to make good trouble for our cause of freedom.

Hello Everyone, Does anyone have a link to the conference call last night?. I was at a family reunion yesterday and didn’t get hop until way after midnight, so I missed it. If any one has the link it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Last year, and this year was the same thing, I pay for the conference, and could not see the conference, if I would of called in, I would of had to put it on speaker phone, I have no problem when I attended Alex zooms, are when we have meetings, but for some reason, I can’t get the conference, so I hope, that for those who paid for the conference, and send email the first day of the problem, get a chance, to see a recording, I would of love to see some of the speakers,I miss the one last year, who they made a movie about, please let me know what could be done….
