ACSOL Conference Reorganized as Virtual Conference on Oct. 10 and Oct. 11

The Alliance for Constitutional Sex Offense Laws (ACSOL) has reorganized its 2020 conference, “Empowered People Inspiring Change,” so that the entire conference will be held online.  Individuals can also attend and participate in the conference by phone.  The conference will be held on Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. PST.

“ACSOL is excited to present its entire conference this year online and by phone,” stated ACSOL Executive Director Janice Bellucci.  “By utilizing two technology platforms, we will be able to keep attendees and participants safe while providing them with maximum program and content.”

This year’s conference will include all formerly announced keynote speakers including Alissa Ackerman, Justin Brooks, Aaron Marcus, Catherine Carpenter, Chance Oberstein and Janice Bellucci.  The conference will also include the following panels: Domestic and International Travel, Veterans and the Registry, LGBTQ Issues, Modifying Conditions of Parole, Effective Advocacy, Family Issues, Stigma and the Registry, Becoming Empowered and Using Social Media.

In addition to keynote speakers and panels, the conference will offer open discussion and feedback sessions at the end of each during which attendees can share their conference experiences.

“Because this year’s conference is virtual, we are able to offer two days worth of programming for only $25,” stated ACSOL President Chance Oberstein.  “Because this price is lower than what some people have already paid, we are offering partial refunds to those people or they can choose to donate the balance to ACSOL.”

This year’s conference will be recorded and recordings will be available to those who have signed up for the conference.

Anyone who previously signed up and paid for the originally scheduled conference in May will receive an email from ACSOL.  If you choose, you will be automatically signed up for the October online conference, and may either donate, or receive a refund of, the balance of the fee paid for the originally scheduled conference.”

For anyone wishing to receive a partial refund, please send an email to conference@all4consolaws.org.  Partial scholarships are available upon request.  Scholarship requests should also be sent via email to conference@all4consolaws.org or calling (818) 305-5984.

Although it took time and effort to plan this year’s conference a second time, our time and effort have paid off in the form of an online conference that will be available to anyone who has a phone or a computer. In addition, the conference will be recorded so that attendees can view and/or listen to the conference when they wish. The low cost to attend the conference — only $25 — will also help to make the conference available to more people. And, of course, scholarships are available if needed. The conference will include at the end of the day a live virtual meeting room, that will not be recorded, where attendees can share their reactions to what they have learned at the conference. We hope to “see” you there!
