Rumor or Truth?
About 14 registered parolees in a sober living home in Riverside were just violated recently. They were Facebook users. Supposedly, Sacramento issued the order to use facial recognition to find these users. More arrests could be made as more parolees are being investigated. Not sure on the validity so take this as something you just heard.
Timmr….what trade are you in? I think, the whole networking idea is great. I am just not knowledgeable enough to start, but with a bunch of brainstorming, this could be a godsend for people with or without skills to find out about possible employment.
Timmr..thanks for the response. I frequent a forum that has a thread called “Looking for a job”, and people post if their company is hiring, or if someone in a position to hire has a job opening. I don’t think this website is meant for something like this, but there are forums that deal with offenders and their friends/ families, and maybe there could be a Threat Starter for jobs? Just a thought.
I have an old clunker of a car, and I wonder how a RSO is supposed register any vehicle they drive and still safely (without the chance of arrest) test drive a car at the dealership. I asked that question when I recently did my yearly registration, and the woman acted like that was a strange question. I would think there would be a provision for this, as even us poor RSO’s have to drive to work and such. Any advice would be appreciated.
Has anyone here tried to get off probation early for a CP possession conviction? Wondering if I should bother trying…or would it most likely be a waste of $? I’m almost 18 months into my 3 years of formal probation. The sooner I can get off probation…the sooner I can try to get my felony reduced. My PO doesn’t think a judge will grant it…especially with it being a 290 conviction/case.
I asked my attorney same question. He said it depends on if you have done all court mandated requirements, if you have been respectful of the process while on probation, and if your probation officer feels you are worthy of early release. The courts respect the probation officers recommendations, but even with all that……….?. I am in same situation. I figure if I buy my P.O. a new big screen for Xmas I have a better chance. (Joke!). Thanks, Timmr…Surely there is someone who knows about how you’re supposed to test drive a car when you have to register vehicles. Any thoughts are welcome, as I’ve struck a brick wall and may be afoot soon if I don’t get new wheels.
With all the documented abuses of RC civil rights, by governmental entities and their cooperators on travel, living, registries, equal protection and etc, which is, clearly base on hate, vendetta and deliberate truth hiding. It would seem to me, there should be enough evidence to challenge and to charge these public deviants.
What could be done about reversing the decision on 311 expungement. It seems so unfair to deny us the opportunity to clear a mistake. So many reports, so much support, but still no action.

This is so unfair. I was convicted in 2004 of have four pictures files of females 16 or older on my computer. I was able to get my misdomeanor conviction expunged in 2008,but I still have to register for life but, am not on meagans website.
Was your conviction a felony or misdomeanor?
This label and restictions that have been applied have destortyed my prevoius career, and even in constuction today I cannot work on school projects, so I have to make up some story as to why I can’t work there. I did not buy, trade, searchout talk ot touch anyone, I just had a serious problem with porn, that millions of americans today struggle with, but in my case I was presented with one of those amatuer self shot websites and boom, a life is ruined, famlies and friends are hurt.
The goverment could shut these down and go after the people making this filth, but seem not too instead they go for the ones that struggle with porn and click one too many times.
All I can say is stay strong, I had put all this behind me 10 years ago, went back to school adn boom an article surfaces on the internet that was not around ten years ago and has started the nightmare all over. Am tired and depressed and worry all the time someone might name search me.
I and maybe you just had a problem with porn, if someone owns a moview where people are being murdered does that make them murders? no of course not, but because anyone under 18 is a child am considered some sicko. They where teenagers but my conviction says CP. Just the words make my skin crawl and the shame assocaited with it is never ending torture.

I’m in Texas, but I love this wonderful site, and the people here that believe strongly in common sense rather than ridiculous laws aimed to put an easy feather in the hat of corrupt politicians.
I was also interested in finding out how someone can get off probation early. I heard 50%, too, all fees paid. My question is, how long is the court ordered therapy? The court order did not specify a time frame, neither did the therapist. Is 52 weeks pretty much the norm? Can felony SO offenses ever be expunged? I guess, that will be my next project to research. For those in OC, there is the “New Leaf Program” that offers good information.
Timmr, it is just a sport related forum that designates one threat to people helping other people finding jobs. It could be any Forum for that matter, nothing special.
My family and I are considering moving from Alameda County to outside Placer county in the next year (in California).
If I run my business in the Bay Area and have an apartment down here that I am at the majority of the time, will I have web registration up in the other area as that is not my primary location?
I hope everyone is able to enjoy their holiday season. Hopefully this new year gives everyone regardless of the size of their past mistakes an opportunity to show everyone that there are good people who make poor decisions and these people are able to make things right. Hopefully we get more of our rights restored this coming year.

This morning I was awaken by my phone ringing. It was a detective wanting to do a residence compliance check. I did not answer my phone and he cannot gain entry to my property due to my locked gates. He tried to find me last October also, but I didn’t respond. I’m wondering if I should stay uncooperative by not responding or am I just going to make him mad and cause myself all kinds of unintended problems. So what should I do? I am not on probation or parole and I register yearly as required. One year he cornered me at the Post Office and asked me to just answer my phone and just step out and wave to him from my porch to show I still live there. He seemed nice enough about it, so maybe I should just cooperate?
I’m watching a series on the history of African-Americans. The last episode really struck home as they told of a book that people of color needed to have if they wanted to travel without incident, The Green Book. It identified the hotels they could stay in, the places they could stop to eat or get gas, etc. When I hear people on this site talk about travel, local, interstate and international travel and presence restrictions, and the often serious penalties for breaking them, I’m beginning to see Sex Offenders as part of the new Jim Crow. Sure we don’t all wear our sub human status clearly on our faces, but technology is filling in that gap with GPS monitoring and facial recognition apps. We need a book ourselves to navigate through life in this country, if we’re going to do so without incident.

Don’t know if this is allowed here, but I am in south bay area and looking for work. The DSS banned me for life from my chosen occupation because they said I was a risk to vulnerable senior community. I was a wellness coordinator in a active living environment for 10 years. 1 count 311.11. They called it a “poor moral decision”, duh? Never one complaint and the 135 residents petitioned to keep me on. I was contract, so no recourse. Any help is of course appreciated.
