For the First Time Ever, a Prosecutor Will Go to Jail for Wrongfully Convicting an Innocent Man

Today in Texas, former prosecutor and judge Ken Anderson pled guilty to intentionally failing to disclose evidence in a case that sent an innocent man, Michael Morton, to prison for the murder of his wife. When trying the case as a prosecutor, Anderson possessed evidence that may have cleared Morton, including statements from the crime’s only eyewitness that Morton wasn’t the culprit. Anderson sat on this evidence, and then watched Morton get convicted. While Morton remained in prison for the next 25 years, Anderson’s career flourished, and he eventually became a judge. “… a prosecutor was actually punished in a meaningful way for his transgressions.”
Meaningful way???
The innocent man spent 25 years of his life in prison!!
And the lying prosecutor gets 10 days in jail!
They need to cancel that prosecutor’s State-provided pension for committing a felony in the course of doing his civil service job!
Better yet, they should reassign his pension to the innocent man as compensation for wrongful imprisonment.
At least that would be something closer to justice.

“Holy shades of Orange County, CA, Batman”

Right you are ‘Robin’…..this stinks exactly like orange county, ca…..every court proceeding needs to be video audio taped and the court personnel judge..court reporter..state county attorneys need to wear audio cam.attached so the immediate backhall conference is on audio/video after the accuser confirms the accused innocence and accuser’s motive.

I think maybe he should be castrated, either chemically or physically, with a dull, rusty knife! Oh, put him on a registry, that’s no more difficult than getting a Costco card. Perhaps signs in his front yard at Halloween would work, or maybe not having access to law libraries or legal web sites? This lying (expletive of your choice)cost an innocent man 25 years of his life, and the (expletive of your choice) get less than a slap on the wrist. Karma’s coming and he’d better watch out.

10 days, only? The DA prosecuting and the Judge that presided over this case needs to be investigated, as well. This turd should not be allowed to reside, even, in a septic tank, let alone in society. I hope Mr. Morton sue and get every dime from Mr. Anderson and the County has and will ever get.
