Have we gone nuts as a society? (Guest Column)

My mother was 15 when she married my dad, who was 19. A month later, he shipped out with the Marines and was gone nearly three years, fighting in the Pacific during World War II. I was born after his return. My parents had a long, happy marriage.

That story would turn out differently today. At 19, John fell in love with a girl 15 years old. Her parents were content with their dating until the girl became pregnant. He was arrested for statutory rape, went to jail, was put on lengthy probation, and had to register as a sex offender. Full Article

Great editorial piece!! I wish I could hand deliver it to the CA Supreme Court Justices this morning before their decision! She hits the nail on the head! My cousin got married at 16 in CA in the late 70’s to an “Older Man” and had her son at 17. She would not change a thing even though she is no longer married to the man. IF this hadn’t happened, we wouldn’t have her son, who is an amazing human being and as my second cousin, I consider him my little brother. The same goes for my mother, as I would not have my older sister. When one does the research, you quickly realize that these laws are so strict because teenage pregnancy was becoming a social welfare burden for the state when the father would not take financial responsibility; so it’s not a question of morality after all…it’s about the money.

Yes, America is done for. It was an example of equality with the potential to do well. Even if you screwed up you were given a second chance after you paid your debt to society. Those days are gone.

No, the America that was is no longer and never will be again. The glory days are all seen far away in the rearview mirror. Real shame. Nice experiment of a country but bigger forces are at work behind the scenes and the sheeple are more than happy to be led right into the slaughter house.
