An attorney from the Wisconsin State Public Defender’s Office wants changes to a bill that would restrict housing options for released sex predators, saying it could put the state’s civil commitment law in constitutional jeopardy. Full Article

The big issues are preventing people from attending Church. Now, when I had my issue some years ago, I became involved with Church as many do. I also became involved with Prison Ministries. We had some very serious individuals who regularly attended Church and there criminal history was mind blowing. We never had any issues. So, are they suggesting someone is going to jump up and attack a child? I think people need to wake up. People are brought to justice, punished and thereafter released on probation/or parole to insure they abide by their rules. As I’ve mentioned before, maybe society should be looking for ways to increase the individuals success as opposed to continuing to put barrier after barrier in their way. It’s terrible this is happening. We treat drug offenders, alcoholics, spousal abusers and so on. It’s time for society to realize this will only result in more people failing than succeeding. It probably costs a lot more money to institutionalize someone than to supporting their desire to work and start families.
