____ ____, a Clay County father who has long denied that he was a sex offender who molested his own son, received a telephone call Friday that he has wanted for nearly half his life.

A wonderful outcome for the Leap family, but long overdue. And a reminder to everyone that there are many innocent people who, for a variety of reasons, end up taking plea deals for crimes they never committed. My friend, currently a registrant, is one of them. His case was a load of baloney from start to finish, but he ended up taking the plea for reasons too various to go into here. Another case worthy of attention is that of Charles Farrar of Colorado. Various articles have been written about Charles, all online if anyone is interested. These cases are travesties of justice. The legal system is quick to condemn but way too slow to correct its mistakes, when it corrects them at all.
