UK: Man fined after sex offender warning daubed on pavement with mop

Source: northantslive.news 10/5/21

A Northampton man has been fined after painting a message outside a house he believed to belong to a sex offender.

Jamie David Owens, of Darwin Walk, attended an address in the East Hunsbury area of Northampton on August 1 2021.

He took a “pot of white paint and a mop” and proceeded to write a message on the road outside the house.

The court was not told what the message said.

However, prosecutor Suky Singh told Northampton Magistrates Court Owens “believe the home belonged to a registered sex offender”.

Northamptonshire Police were called shortly after and Owens was arrested.

Not the sharpest tool in shed.

Yea makes a lot of sense to paint ( Sex offender ) on the road. Cast the first stone if you without sin in your life.. Again someone so sad in life they have to point out other people’s bad acts to feel some good in their life. Cause they can’t face they own bad acts.. Which is kind of odd to paint it on the road makes me think this guys want too meet this guy and talk about his bad acts. Too me it a message not a warning. A warning to me is like watch your back sex offender if that was painted.

Dude isn’t sorry about what he did, he’s sorry that he got caught. Now if only we could get the police to act upon this kind of stuff in the States, people would think twice before harassing us or vandalizing our property.

Haveing ur exact address on Megan’s law is extremely dangerous.

Good luck

Wait, he was trying out for a role in Tom Sawyer as white washer painting the fence. Maybe his full time job is writing slogans with a mop and paint. The dude has ten convictions so he might want to look in the mirror.

It was probably the word “nonce,” popular Brit slang for “sex offender.” Short enough word to write sloppily with a mop.
