I wonder what the (PTSD) side affects are gonna be for people once there off the registry after 20-30 years, I know for me the whole experience has been very traumatizing.
I remember when my kids where little everyone would be so happy when we moved to a new house or apartment and I would be too for about 30 days, that’s how long it usually takes for the Karen’s to start showing up, I’ve even had local Gang members knock on my door and tell me that me and my family have 2 weeks to move or else.
Another time when we lived in riverside my ex-wife got into a fistfight at the mailboxes with this lady who had been harassing her and the kids for weeks.
I’ll probably seek therapy to see how much damage the registry has actually done to my mental and physical health at this point.
When I get off the registry I’m coming back for revenge on all my oppressors, everyone who enforced 290 Laws upon me and my family 😡

Seeking advice in LA County

I’m hoping to move to a place of my own. (Sorta). My sister owns a home in Norwalk, & is looking to Convert the garage into a separate one bedroom home. And is looking to rent out the house as well. Does anyone know if my sister needs to disclose my SO status to the other renters as part of rental agreement?
i know that my info is out there on the Registry. But, we’re wondering if sharing my info to renters is mandatory.
many advice welcomed

A.S

I was thinking today (yes…it hurt my brain). My dog Roxie, a service certified Doberman, is now 6 years old or so (supposedly she was born May ’16). I got her at 1 1/2 years of age. Time has really flew by.

Last evening Roxie was barking barking barking. She, after not coming inside (her domain is the backyard and covered back porch outfitted with with ventilation and a hot tub no doubt) for probably 6 months, came inside trying to lead me.

I went to see what’s up. She was barking at the dogs around here crying for help. I sat with her trying to explain that I understand her but I can’t help them (I saved Roxie from going to the animal shelter).

How the hell does a human, supposedly the dominate species, explain to another species that I/we can’t help?

Don’t recall seeing anything on this so:

State of Michigan AG sent writ to SCOTUS seeking Centori on School Safety Zones back in August.

Check it out: http://www.scotusblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/16-768-cert-petition.pdf

@LPH, speaking of animal shelters, I had to put my dog down in August and have recently been looking for a new one. I would like shelter dog but around here that option is out because all the shelters around here require background checks to adopt and won’t adopt to anyone who has a criminal record. It isn’t specific to sex offenders though.

While perusing some Congressional Research Service documents (yes, I’m weird) regarding SORNA, I came across something interesting pertaining to educational enrollment. This is older info but IDK how many of us know about it…clearly I didn’t or else I wouldn’t be posting right now!

Anyway, according to the Feds, one does not need to report enrollment if the coursework is done purely online. I had long wondered about this and the fact that it seemed I would have to make interstate travel if I wished to use a school outside my State’s boundaries. Here is the pertinent text from Federal Register No. 73, page 38206:

The final SORNA basis of registration is being a student, which SORNA § 111(11) defines to mean ‘‘an individual who enrolls in or attends an educational institution, including (whether public or private) a secondary school, trade or professional school, and institution of higher education.’’ Hence, for example, a sex offender who resides in jurisdiction A, and is enrolled in a college in an adjacent jurisdiction B to which he commutes for classes, must be required to register in jurisdiction B as well as jurisdiction A. School enrollment or attendance in this context should be understood as referring to attendance at a school in a physical sense. It does not mean that a jurisdiction has to require a sex offender in some distant jurisdiction to register in the jurisdiction based on his taking a correspondence course through the mail with a school in the jurisdiction, or based on his taking courses at the school remotely through the Internet, unless the participation in the educational program also involves some physical attendance at the school in the jurisdiction.

(Emphasis added.)

Now, who knows if one’s State goes along with this interpretation; I’m guessing at least some do because they are a bunch of lemmings who simply parrot the Federal text. The part of concern is the part saying, “[i]t does not mean that a jurisdiction has to require….” Right, it doesn’t have to, but how many oppressive jurisdictions will and do?

Time to go browse the online course-catalogs for some law schools! 😂

Is there any way to take down this facebook page “Prey Protectors” from Mason Chapman?

I know we all tend to dwell on the past when it comes to our offenses, but we might want to start looking at what is happening now in Florida as a precursor to what many of those on the registry are in for.
Governor DeSantis is currently getting people appointed to offices in higher education at the state Boards and University administrations that will be doing his bidding and controlling what is acceptable curriculum to be taught. Just as he has done in primary schools. He is essentially attempting to guide people in their thoughts ( read: brain wash).
This man is the #1 person to be the Republican nominee in 2024 and I can only imagine what he will propose and enact against registrants if elected. He could easily remove the few existing liberties we currently have. Travel, residency boundaries and registry duration limits could easily be wiped out. You only have to look at what we all recognize as a hell hole for Florida registrants to see that we in other states have that to look forward to if this man is elected.
I will be off the registry (🙏) by then, but from what I have read about laws being implemented retroactively, I don’t feel safe in my future. Steve in Germany has been lucky enough to be allowed human rights violations asylum due to Florida laws. Those laws are set to become federal laws if people like DeSantis are allowed to hold higher office.
I hope this wakes people up to the dangers not just us , but our families face. Millions could be irrevocably affected.

I just listened to Steve (River) Whitsett’s latest short video, explaining a little bit more why the German Court ruled the way it did in his case. It is stating that once a person completed their sentence and probation/ parole, there is no further obligation to the sentencing court. Addressing the FTR (Failure to Register), it is an alleged violation that is administrative in nature. In Germany, any administrative violation of probation results in a monetary fine, NEVER term of imprisonment.
Any sentence from an Administrative violation that results in term of imprisonment is a violation of Human Rights. I could not agree more. How is it still possible that people get sent to prison or jail for a mere administrative violation?

Just heard a conversation where it was documented that a Florida FBI swat team member refused to join his team in apprehending a Jan 6th rioter in Florida that had registered weapons and was considered possibly dangerous because he be didn’t think the raid was justified. He was suspended from his post.
These same people think drawing guns on an unarmed 1st grade child at a school and arresting them because the child touched another IS justified. This shows that these agents bring their prejudices and false beliefs with them on the job. How can we trust LEOs that don’t uphold the same laws for all and abuse those laws for the few.

So if the court grants your petition and you no longer have to register, the penal code 290 statute no longer applies? everything we sign and initial every year when we register, we don’t have to follow anymore correct?

Lone Ranger- of course I don’t know your life circumstances, but I was station in Germany. (Over 2 years) Had my extension gone thru, would have done my entire 4 year tour there. And may have just stayed Fantastic place to live. And if the laws are different there for S.O., if you don’t have many ties, it’s absolute worth considering. Changes to the registry are miniscule, and take years.

Seriously?? 🤨 😠 Does the U.S. government and law enforcement really need yet another tools with which to f*ck with American citizens??? 😡 🤬

What is Fog Reveal? A legal scholar explains the app some police forces are using to track people without a warrant.

There’s an app for that. 😒

National Sex Offender Public Website app.

Everywhere. All the time. 😠

(‘Sure glad the f*cking Registries aren’t punishment. 😡 🤬 How long before forehead tattoos are required??? 😡 Don’t worry, they we’ll also be ‘not punishment‘! 😖)

Welcome to OUR daily life..

More police officers will continue to commit suicide if the media and politicians continue to demonize them.”

The irony meter just exploded!

Loretta del mar was incredible. Spain was also another place to enjoy life away from the registry. Hope all goes well with your petition. Thou early, Bon Voyage, brother. I’m glad for everyone who gets out of this registry hell.

Hi,was there a monthly meeting this month…
we were hoping there is a recording available.
Thank you web master.R

I don’t know where this fits in but I read the most resent gun law and on one of the statements that stood out to me again was ** Any modern regulation that does not comport with the historical understanding of the right is to be deemed unconstitutional, regardless of how desirable or important that regulation may be in our modern society,” Goodwin wrote on Wednesday.this state meant came from the UNITED STATE SUPREME COURT! Why do I think it’s significant is because of the wording he said any modern regulation that does not comport with the historical understanding of the right is to be deemed unconstitutional sex offenders laws are regulations not laws they don’t compute with the Constitution in fact their contrary to the Constitution and it’s writing and its effect and I think that that’s significant in and of itself

Just watched an episode of Nova: Computers vs Crimes. Only got the last 20 minutes, here’s what I got.

* Strategic Suspect List: known a “SSL”: Data driven list of most likely suspects for a crime. Uses past convictions to predict likelihood of current criminal activity.

Predictive Policing: Using algorithms to predict where and who will commit crime in the future. Used to increase monitoring.

Gang member list: Once you’re on it, no way to get off. SSL starts with this list.

Being on the Gang list, creates problems with jobs and housing, which may make recidivism more likely. Employers and land lords use this list to deny.

Doesn’t reduce crime. No evidence it actually reduces crime. Might actually increase crime by people not on SSL, and increase likelihood of not getting caught. Wastes police efforts looking at innocent SSL people, while the real perp moves on to the next crime.

European legislation to restrict use as human rights violation

Any of the t sounds familiar?

Check it? PBS Nova: Computers vs Crime.

Totally digging the creative names that are showing up for comments. Might as well make this more entertaining since most of us will be here for a while.

I’m super glad I discovered this podcast through a subreddit for PFRs.

I just received a letter today from the commonwealth of VA today. I thought it was my good will letter of completion of probation, instead it was a letter wanting my fingerprints, guess communication with government doesn’t mean much to who’s on registry and who’s off registry.

Guess I will have to send a letter to the Department of State Police letting them know about my completion of my probation. Seems government want to squeeze people to death. Wonder if they would take paw prints…lol

It’s truly fascinating how the United States punishes all convicted criminals and then ties an anchor around their necks completely paralyzing them from ever achieving any kind of success in life. Society then is shocked when a previously convicted person does something extreme like robbing a bank because they have no other way to live in civilized society. How can they ever outlive their conviction? No job, no life, no trust, nowhere to live.

I also find it fascinating how society expects anything different from those of us that are registered citizens. Psychologist have for decades understood that if you place a lab rat in an environment that provides stress, the lab rat will respond. It’s called natural selection. If society continues to label us as the worst thing we have ever done, how can they expect us to to live a life that is acceptable. If you continuously label someone as a predator eventually they will mentally begin to self identify. Does society want me to believe I am a rapist or child molester when the truth is I might have looked at a photo of a 17 year old girl naked?

For many years our prison system wanted to implement rehabilitation for prisoners. Now it seems they want to convince us we are far worse than we ever were. I try every day to not allow society to define who I am. I know who I am. I am a kind person with a good heart. I give generously to charity. I help those in need. I refuse to accept I am a predator because I looked at a photo of a nude 17 year old girl decades ago. I am an old man that has no ability for arousal anymore. Leaving me on a list that labels me as a predator and not allowing me to live in peace is nonsense. I digress….

600k + people are going to be negatively affected if SCOTUS reverses the DACA act. See, we aren’t the only ones that ignorant people hate. ACSOL lawyers should band together with DACA lawyers and make a united case for human rights. Thinking over 2 million people being civilly abused has got to say something about the state of humanity in the U.S.

296.2 pc states (I understand that I’m required to submit DNA samples as well as fingerprints and full Palm print)..but it doesn’t State where when and why.
So does that mean that any type of law-enforcement agent can approach me and force me take DNA fingerprints and full palmprints even if I’m at work or at home or just out and about, because it doesn’t say how or when I must comply it just says I must comply ??
these laws are so vague I swear each one has some kind of loophole for them to have total control over us
