This seems to be a daily occurrence. News about law enforcement, coaches, teachers, and other persons in position of trust. Will that enlighten the misinformed and ignorant Karens and Darens? How much more proof do we need that the registries are pure evil, counter productive, punitive and plain silly. As a matter of fact, I truly believe that the registries are the cause for children being hurt since the ignorant public hides behind their false and perceived security while only focusing on dangers from PFRs and therefore letting their guards down when it comes to true dangers. The registries cause these people to forget about common sense. I said before in an analogy: The car that will hit you will come from the side you are not looking at.

Another cop…pretend to be shocked! =)

Not a whole lot of details on exactly what this guy is accused of. Have to assume that he was looking to hook up with a teen, in one way or another. In person meet up…web cam…something like that, is the accusation.

Assuming he is guilty, which may not be true, it’s hard to know what to think. If he was chatting with some 16-17 year old, and maybe they planned a meet…ummm, I’m not all that upset by that. I’m not happy about it…but I’m hardly enraged by that.

If he was prowling the Sesame Street forum sending dic pics to 4 year olds…yeah, upset by that. I could be very upset by that.

He tarnished his badge. Anyone here know of some LEO that has, “Tarnished their badge”? I can think of one… probably more with some effort.

The article finishes with such a cliche statement about “High standards, Abhorrent behavior and community protection”, from the current chief. Blah, blah, blah. Basically they are embarrassed that one of their own got caught.
