CA: Child-sex offender faces felonies for living in High Desert home but claiming homelessness

Source: vvdailypress.com 1/2/23

A registered sex offender last convicted in California less than six years ago for child-sex abuse is now behind bars on two felony charges for allegedly “giving false information to law enforcement” by claiming to be homeless despite having taken up residence in a High Desert home.

John Ray ____, 57, was arrested shortly before noon last Wednesday on the outskirts of Apple Valley at a home that authorities say he’s been living in without registering it as a residence he uses in legally-required updates to his sex-offender status, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in a public advisory.

It’s a shame to think all this guy was trying to do was to live a normal life. Come on people we need to fix this registry,

So…..let’s see…..he was violating the NATIONAL sex offender registry and was charged with 2 felonies for lying where he lived. And let’s see, he was violating the NATIONAL drug laws with a marijuana grow, and not charged….. While I am not advocating for him to be charged with any drug charges, but it is interesting which laws they decided to enforce.

Wait this is Very interesting, how did he get 2 failure to register charges for failing to register once, i’ve been busted for FTR all addresses before and and I was never charged for registering as transient, So this must be knew.
With the California three strike law FTR already carries 8-10 years depending on what mood the DA is in BUT this new charge for registering as transient added, you’d be looking at 10-15 years.
It’s crazy how they just keep changing the laws up right in front of us, I swear the last time I registered I had to literally initial my name by at lest 30 different laws, that’s 30 different ways I could go to prison, how stressful is that.

Registration is ILLEGAL, Forcing me to SPEAK to PIGS or FILL OUT PAPERWORK at a PIG office is FORCING me. Registration should be illegal just as self incrimination is. When PIGS come out to my place yearly I DO NOT Talk to them on a SINGLE question they ask. A REGISTRATION for ASKS QUESTIONS… by me NOT ANSWERING them isnt ILLEGAL.
