ACSOL Nationwide Action Alert: Oppose a 1,500 foot Residency Restriction in a Florida County

Let’s all support Florida registrants in Volusia County by opposing a terrible ordinance that would make it very difficult to find a place to live!

All registrants in all states should email, call, or send letters through the U.S. Mail to the Volusia County Council members to let them know that you OPPOSE the expansion of the residency restriction requirement to 1,500 feet in the unincorporated areas of the county for people required to register as a predator.

I posted this video to general Commons last week. Please go out and voice your opinion in opposition of this. What’s even more interesting is the bill on restricting any adult 18+ from loitering within a playground at a park if you have no minor children there. So if you are 21 with your 20 year old girlfriend are hanging out at the swings, you can be arrested!!! And in the meeting they talked of punishment. I think they said 90 days in jail!!!! For doing nothing that I consider illegal!! Good luck Florida….😯

I received the following response from the Volusia County Chair: “I will not support increasing residency restrictions.”

That was good to hear, but keep sending opposition communications, he is only one person.
