Andrew ‘Drew’ Drechsel, who won Season 11 of NBC’s American Ninja Warrior in 2019, has been sentenced to just over 10 years in prison after being charged with multiple child sex crimes.
As reported by People, Drechsel was arrested at his home in Florida back in August 2020 after engaging in a sexual relationship with a teenage girl in 2014 after they met at an event.
This is actual child sex abuse. The man physically met the girl, developed a relationship, then persuaded the girl to travel in order to have sex and encouraged her to provide illicit photos. His actions warrant the punishment handed to him. He wasn’t set up by a sting, didn’t get suckered in by an internet chat with unknown person. This is what the law should be used for. Not all the crap that they do to unwitting persons just because it’s easier for them and gets more attention.
All I have to say is that 10 years in prison is extremely excessive. He needs help to change not a 10 years prison sentence, which will do no one any good.
