Law enforcement disapproves
Despite Bassett contributing to the arrest of Allen, law enforcement generally discourages undercover civilian operations.
Officers say it can detract from real justice with real consequences.

Because of a lack of legal consequences, the civilian operations hurt society, Keller believes.
“It’s like catch-and-release,” he said. “It lets them go right back into the wild.”
Another problematic aspect is civilians don’t have the ability to find a suspect’s real victims — children currently victimized or being groomed by predators.
When law enforcement is involved, the case doesn’t stop with the arrest. Police conduct search warrants and look at phones or computers. This often reveals sex crime victims — children who have had their photos taken at vulnerable moments or being asked to do something sexual on a webcam.

On the other hand, when law enforcement arrests somebody, they go through the court system. Usually, the goal is to make that person a sex offender or a sex predator.
In Florida, sex offenders’ and predators’ information is posted on state websites and local law enforcement has to inform the community when one of these people moves into the area.
Shouldn’t street justice like this be considered impersonating a cop? To many holier than thou doing holier than shady judgement. I lived near this place when I lived in Florida.

I wonder how this guy would feel if him or one of his family members were targeted by one of these civilian groups for youtube views.
Someone should make a youtube channel interviewing people who get cought up in theses stings so people can see how much time these people spend having sexual conversation with random people with hopes of deceiving and luring them to strange location.

The goal is to make someone a registrant? Huh, that sure sounds retributive (i.e. punitive).
Take time to research the clown that is behind this stupidity. His arrest records are very long and one of them is for beating up a pregnant girl. What a pathetic loser.
So then, if I happen to defend myself which results in their losing their life, will that be ok because it is street justice and the courts will overlook it? Let’s ask those in the shade of life hiding in the shadows who do this for a living.
