MI: Trial in double murder of sex offenders in Adrian delayed until May

ADRIAN — A trial in the case of a Morenci man who is accused of shooting to death two registered sex offenders and committing other crimes almost a year ago has been delayed again.

This time, it is rising COVID-19 case numbers and his attorney’s health that are causing Christopher Lee-Ryan Carden to have to wait to go on trial in Lenawee County Circuit Court. The trial’s new start date is May 17.

Carden is charged with open murder in the deaths of Samuel Compton, 82, and Robert Braman Sr., 67, both of Adrian, on Jan. 15, 2021, at 904 1/2 Frank St. in Adrian. He is also charged with first-degree home invasion, unlawful driving away a motor vehicle, and third-degree fleeing and eluding police as well as weapons offenses.

In a separate case from the same day, he is charged with first-degree home invasion at a residence in Morenci. Police and prosecutors say he broke into the home there with the intent of killing a registered sex offender who lived there but did not because other people were there.

Well well well. The registry is now a government hit list. Our government is nothing short of the Nazis killing off the jews. What a shame. And this country brags it the home of the free. It the home of most prisons and locked up people in the world. Land of the free and home of the brave is a fing huge ass lie. This country was for the people but not no more. This country just not trustworthy…

Unbelievable that any other city in Michigan can be as lenient as Detroit, only more so. In Detroit everyone goes free, no matter what crimes they commit, even wounding a police officer is okay and not put in jail. Here we have a double murder of 2 sex offenders, may not even have committed a actual sex offence but their dead. This guy is enjoying life and freedom on the covid excuse. We know it’s because they are both exspendable. Does anyone even care or complain ? I guess it’s a free for all to kill anyone on the registry. Next they kill the drunken woman who peed on the sidewalk !!
