VA: Chesterfield police arrest 16 in online operations involving sex solicitation of minors

Source: richmond.com 5/4/22

Chesterfield County police special victims’ detectives conducted two recent online sting operations involving sexual solicitation of minors that resulted in the arrest of 16 suspects on a total of 31 charges, many of them felonies, police announced Wednesday.
The planned operations were the department’s seventh and eighth of this type since June 2020.

As in past cases, detectives on March 31 and April 28 intercepted suspects who believed they were soliciting sex from minors through various social media platforms. The suspects communicated with people they believed to be underage and arranged to meet them at a location to have sex. When the suspects came to the location, they were met by police and arrested.

In earlier operations, the suspects responded to online ads for paid sex that detectives placed with a phone number to call on websites like skipthegames.com, an online escort service, according to trial evidence.

Wow how dumb can these guys be? Now this will affects everyone that’s on registry. People will think everyone is like these guys. It’s a terrible look for us all.

All those “lock ’em up forever” and “death is the only solution” type comments are so…phoned in, like a bunch of “hate robots” just churning out animus on the internet all day, esp. whenever one is lamenting ‘victims’ while these all-american ‘sting’ operations are nothing more than a bunch of lazy agents role-playing characters. Isn’t there enough *real* crime anymore without having to fabricate more? And maybe things were different when I was growing up, but most of us ‘minors’ didn’t find the idea of meeting up with random middle-aged men on the internet all that appealing anyway.

When are people going to learn that nothing good is going to come out of trying to meet a “minor” for sex?
I am also willing to wager that none of the people arrested were on the registry. So much for keeping the public safe from registrants.

Big bro been busy!

You would think by now that knowledge of these traps would be widespread and commonplace. But no, the prospect of being easy led with sweet talk is all it takes for the gullible.

I’d like to know when was the last time someone was arrested for online solicitation that was NOT the result of one of these stupid bait-and-switch stings.

My complaint of this article by the Richmond Times is that they published these guys’ home addresses when they haven’t been tried and convicted yet. Putting their info like that is putting a target on them before they even get their due process.

One of the guys charged was 18 and several were in their 20s. I agree that a man in his 40s and up should realize that a teenager would not want to hook up with him. But catfishing and netting an 18 year-old. Good job Chesterfield cops! Not.

My grandfather came from Richmond back in the 18 hundreds was a 33 degree mason.  I wouldn’t even hang out in Richmond and I can just imagine how VA Beach is today and of course they have a high per capital rate of crime anyway. With this Computer tool guess thats a crime stopper of the internet downfall or age. Just site, click and entice. What a way too make a living by defrauding others. Course who am I to tell people what to do. I can’t even convience any those rhode schlors on here so I’m sure this DC thing isn’t gonna be easy. Guess their is a reason for all season. Challenging is one thing but winning a change in venue is another.

Here are 16 people who are likely not on the registry. I suspect that because the paper would have trumpeted that fact. Tellingly, the paper did not mention the fact that these were not registered persons. Having sixteen first-time offenders with none on the registry strengthens the argument that registration does not insure or even promote public safety.

Well, here is the deal. I’ve posted a few personal ads over the years and I had a few responses from individuals stating I’m 16? Or, I’m only 15? I was rather taken aback ! I simply responded no! Going online and offering to meet a prostitute at a hotel room is risky (robbery/sting/who knows). Yet, offering to meet someone underage is even worst! I’m not sure what to say. If you have a prostitution problem, meet someone 18 yo or older! So, I’m not sure what to say. The big question is, do you think this was their 1st time? Also, let’s be honest. What if they had met an underage or trafficked victim? Be open: what should happen to them with the intent? And, what should happen to them if they had actually met the underage girl and had sex with her? When (I was curious) I had (probably a sting) underage females responding to my personal ads, I was wondering, what where the legalities? I don’t think their are laws about being friends? Lunch? Movie? When does it cross the line? I’m not into underage, but I was curious. What’s your opinion?

They’ve been doing these stings for TWENTY YEARS, and every time they say “we know we caught these guys after they’ve already victimized many” and yet NEVER ONCE have I seen any evidence of this—no prior victims identified using their confiscated phones or computers, no prior victims coming forward after seeing mug shots, and I’ve never heard of a single re-arrest for a similar crime, so no future victims either. Twenty years of this, and nearly every man arrested has no priors, no past victims, and no future victims. These guys should have Gigabytes of CP and social media accounts full of minors. Where are they? No pushback from the courts or media that maybe these stings do nothing but disrupt the lives of law abiding Americans?

Now MC and Will Allen and many others chill out a bit. Don’t they even put birth;s of children in the papers, even death. New is news even arson, bugerly or whatever, whats the difference. Show some Respect like Arethera say.Oh and they busted a strip joint or gentleman’s club for hitting golf balls to far. Come on get with the program. Their is a main goal in all this we comment about. If its not justice than its not justice for all is it.

Did any of you all read the article which I’m sure you did.. The three words…. The planned operation. So for those that don’t read warning sighs it can make a big differenc. Were not talking about how the body breaks down or is this about man over man in some vain advantage. Look up the word van and vaniety sometimes or are government programs to castrate another. One wonders if abortions are legal today. I never heard of a guy getting an abortion, maybe from his wife but thats called a divorce.

LPH your you seem to be grasping at straws as well as many. Hey I am at a loss also at times. I wish you hadn’t brought up that abortions are going to be around, but since you did here goes. Do you want the easy answer, the real answer, the plausible answer or should you all review the movie “Go ask Alice” See many want find the easy answers but its not as easy as that. Sure you talk about abortions and even this registry is bad enough Guess they will always be around.

I wonder if any of you internet gamers know what the internet is all about. Yah guess its all about the internet or database as someone said. Well thats your get out of jail free card and that seems to be a type of justification but is it. Now someone in TX look this guy up as he writes this article and here is his article on injustice. He even gives some steps and points. Now we are talking about Chrisrians or are we still a Christian Nation  https://lifehopeandtruth.com/life/christian-living/christianity-in-progress/what-should-christians-do-about-injustice
