SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Victims who receive unsolicited sexually graphic material by text, email, app or other electronic means could sue the sender under a bill that California lawmakers sent to Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday.
The bill targets what’s known as “cyber flashing,” where victims receive such unwelcome surprises often from strangers.
It’s amusing and infuriating to see lawmakers tackle “cyber flashing” when we have more pressing problems in California like drought, economic downturns, and employment issues…
Typical tactic of politicians to placate the masses with BS policies to create the illusion they are making things better when they haven’t.
Cool. Use this law to sue the FBI, the NCMEC, and/or whatever ICAC task force(s) are sending CP.
SMH and the internet still remains undefeated not just for people forced to register but for everyone in this nation that has been scared by it’s existence.
When I took my deal there was no smart phone’s and life was still Hell BUT once them smart phone’s came out my life took a dramatic turn.
This law is just a test run 10 years from now sending explicit pictures will be just like actually physically flashing someone, so be careful what your doing with those phone’s because law enforcement is just waiting to confiscate it
Is this an effort to wiggle around the 1st Am? Seems free speech may bar a criminal prosecution. Maybe that’s why the misdemeanor idea fell by the wayside.
Hot singles in my area is about to get sued…
Wow what a lame law… although u know how many lawsuits id have against users on Grindr for sending flash pics ? lol…. But maybe its a good thing then lawsuits could jam up the fake courts !!
Does that include twirking, also there are a lot of google pop up ads that i find offensive and demeaning towards both genders and i complain to google quite a bit about there ads that contain partial nudity some are very suggestive that only a urologist should need to explain and they tell you, you wont see this ad again! at least for another two minutes than they are back!
This law is a retirement supplement option for California Sex Offenders.
Desperate broads on dating sites very often send nudes as part of their new baby daddy entrapment process. You just need to be funny, clever and not ask and poof, she will eventually send you her tits or more…. then you can sue.
Get a few of these each year and you got a new Challenger and a mobile home in Adelanto!
