Criminal defense attorney Chance Oberstein has resigned from the ACSOL Board of Directors. According to an email from Mr. Oberstein dated December 24, 2023, his resignation was effective on that date.
“I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest appreciation for the experiences and growth I have gained while serving on the board,” Mr. Oberstein wrote. “I am grateful for the trust and support that the board and ACSOL have given me during my tenure.”
Mr. Oberstein served on the board of directors for about 10 years. During that time, he served as board member, Vice President and President. After Mr. Oberstein’s departure, five attorneys remain in service as board members.
“ACSOL thanks Chance for his many years of service,” stated current ACSOL President and Southwestern Law School professor Catherine Carpenter.
Thank you Chance for all your service and hardwork you have done for us!
Mr. Oberstein,
Your work on the behalf of Registrants, and the community of family and supporters is greatly appreciated. Thank you for all your time, effort, expertise, and mostly for being someone that would use these valuable assets on behalf of this community.
I wish you good health, great happiness, and continued success in this next phase of your life. Thank you.
VOCAL wishes Chance the best in his future endeavors.
Chance, I want to thank you for all you have done for this board and the registrants it fights for. You fought for me and we won. My life was forever changed for me and my family when I met you. I wish the best for you and your family on your future endeavors.
Chance- What an honor it was knowing you. You fought hard for me, at a time before the words “tiered registry” ever even existed in California. As Rick stated above, you also changed my life and the life of my family. I am truly grateful, to you and for you, for ALL time. You will be sorely missed!
Chance saved my life. If it wasn’t for him and his dedication to the cause is what saved me. Godspeed on his future endeavors. FYI for all those around he isn’t leaving his practice you can definitely still find him if you need legal help!!!!
Thank you so much Attorney Chance Obertein. Actually, I am sorry that you are leaving ACSOL, but I am so grateful for all you have done and hard work for all of us, especially me. I was introduced to Chance from Attorney Janice way back in the early 2000’s and I have stayed with them ever since. I am thank you to both attorneys. Chance was successful in obtaining my dismissal and removal from registration here in California. My next step is attempted to get my record sealed with him or of he is not available, with Janice. Thank you Chance for everything. Sincerely, Daniel
Oh wow…What a loss. But wishing Chance a positive future journey and big “Kudos” for all the years you served and the many registrants you helped.
Mr. Oberstein,
I am grateful that you had helped CA RSOL evolve into ACSOL as well as helped so many registrants improve their lives, including myself. I don’t have enough words to say my appreciation and thankfulness for your service.
I wish you the best on your future endeavors!
I want to thank all of you for your kind words and praise. I also want to thank ACSOL for recognizing my advocacy and leadership during my tenure with the organization. I now intend to dedicate more time to my criminal practice in representing registrants all over the state of California. If you need my assistance, I can be found at obersteinlaw.com. God bless! C.
Thank you Chance.
