Australia: Think twice before demanding harsher sentences for child sex offenders

How should we sentence sexual fiends, monsters and perverts? By sentencing them to prison for as long as possible – preferably never letting them free – would seem to be the popular view, if some media reports are to be believed.

This group of offenders is particularly demonised due to fears they are a highly dangerous, recidivist and predatory class of criminals. Full Op-Ed Piece

Just before this post goes away. Aussieland has stuff going on. But outside of America the number ONE story is England. Registrants there are under attack right now as much or worse than America. I’m following it closely, but for now the fight is here Calif on 448 and the runs. I’ll wait for a post on England to come up on this board.

Yes, UK is going the way of the US. We have our own crazy laws.

I have to provide all my financial data to police, bank accounts, credit cards, etc… If I leave the country for 3 or more days I have to tell them, and they will issue an Interpol Green Notice to my destination country.

I am visited MONTHLY by the police. I cannot get a job as they will force me to disclose my conviction.

UK is worse only to USA.

George.

George, thank you for your response. My God, you’re in the middle of it in England/Wales ! I’ve got things I want to say to you: I know that the NSPCC there is powerful, and the British media is in full attack against you. And there is no advocacy there to help you fight.

Please let me try to take it from the California viewpoint, then to you in Great Britain like this: California is now vitally busy fighting residency and Internet restrictions. That’s the priority on this nationally known website at the present time. In addition, CA RSOL is blessed with a gifted leader, Janice Bellucci. She is inspired to fight back using the Law against those who try to use the Law against us. One of her weapons is having this Website as a PUBLIC place for all to see; there are no secrets when truth is involved….

The mania has gradually found it’s way to your shores; I fear it’s due in some part to the self important mistakes we on this side of the Atlantic want to export. England’s now narrow Conservative majority, as of May of this year seems emboldened to make a serious attempt of withdrawal from ECtHR, which defends sex offenders human rights.

In America, the enemy wants to divide us and conquer. Here in the US, it’s to load up each State with so much proposed legislation to constantly keep us busy fighting locally. So it’s very difficult here to fight Nationally. Janice knows that, and attends one of our best national American efforts so far, the annual National RSOL conferences. Someday, we WILL be powerfully Nationally in unified effect. God, how long it may take, but then we will most certainly be able to help you, internationally.

The comments on this article are frightening! Reminds me of the “old days” in California when some were crying for capital punishment for all “sex offenders”. It’s good to know that progress has been made here in the sunshine state.
