____ ____ ____ served out every bit of his eight-year sentence for sexual abuse and should have been released from prison more than a year ago.
But he is still behind bars and could be for up to four more years, with state taxpayers footing the bill for his medical expenses and incarceration.
The reason: He was charged with violating the terms of his conditional release from prison before he even got out, because he couldn’t find a legal place to live as a sex offender. Full Article
Being homeless is not a crime. Yet, these men and yes, some woman are forced to find housing without proper tools or resources before they can be released. (Not provided access to research housing, employment opportunities, etc). This was the same situation i faced in California. They would not let people parole out of prison if they didn’t have a place to move to that was outside of the 2,000ft rule. Luckily, i had a house to move back to that they said met the distance requirement, yes, a few days after moving back home i was forced to move in 2 weeks because they miscalculated the distance because it was property borders, not building edges they go by. I was 30 feet too close under the modified rule. And it is because of that discrepancy that i found myself homeless. Had i not had the opportunity to go home initially, i would be suffering much the same as those in Kentucky who can’t leave prison until they have a home.
Additionally, getting parole violations for something you have no control over is asinine.
I suffered for 5 years because law in California. Now i see that has finally changed (not completely). This situation horrible and it was caused by Unfounded Fear.
I just hope there is a God and there is such thing as Judgement Day.
Man justice due process protection from expost facto laws and the checks and balances of the branches of gov. Are being destroyed right in front of the eyes of all the sheeple of this country. How sad and disgraceful that all if the Americans that have fought and died for freedom in this country has been in vain. I personally am disgusted by our countries history at least our gov. History. First they kill and take by gunpoint the land from the natives then wipe out the wildlife then enslave millions then segregate all minorities thru violence and threat of death and physical harm then hold women back with no rights then persucute gays then criminaize drug wars mass incarceration now persecution of ostrazisam of the so called sex offender. Our gov is NOTHING to be proud of. It’s the minorities of this country that are to be admired and proud of for standing up against all odds against the majorities and the US government.
