FL: What do you think about Jacksonville not enforcing the sign requirement for sex offenders on Halloween?

Source: news4jax.com 9/22/22

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two registered sex offenders filed a federal lawsuit against the City of Jacksonville because they want to decorate for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and other holidays. Thursday, the offenders asked the judge to pause the city sign requirement outside their home because they believe it’s unconstitutional.

Sex offenders in Jacksonville are required to have signs posted outside their home that read “no candy or treats here” so that children don’t trick-or-treat at their homes on Halloween. Because of the lawsuit, the city of Jacksonville has agreed not to enforce the sign requirement while the case is under judicial review.

Parents will need to check the sex offender registry before they go trick-or-treating if they want to avoid those homes.

We want to hear from you. What do you think about the city not enforcing the sign requirement for sex offenders on Halloween?

Honestly, this is, “News”? I have never understood the whole Halloween thing. Just more public shaming. Makes sure that the neighbors that don’t already know about you know now. Wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on the opportunity to shame, harass and maybe even start a decree of banishment.

I remember on probation I was required to be, “lights out” on Halloween. Such a ridiculous idea. I had managed to go my whole life without snatching a trick-or-treater, what makes them think I’m going to start now?!?!? Always assuming that I have just been biding my time waiting, and now I’m really start going for broke… escalate my crimes to whole new levels!!!!

As I recall from my trick-or-treating days, the biggest threat to us kids were the damn teenagers! Saw more than one elementary school kid get candy mugged by some teens. Too old to ToT, but they’re getting some candy, one way or another. Oh and drunk drivers…no hits but several near misses. Honestly, it’s 7:30 and you’re already hitting the road hammered? If you gotta be like that, then drunk drive your ass over to an AA meeting!

The Jacksonville Sign Ordinance (FLA Action Committee, 23Sep2022)

Read on and learn the City Atty predicted a loss if contested in court due to the Butts County, GA court case in the 11th CCOA which struck down their sign law. The case by the two challengers of the law is still ongoing but it is a start…

Why would someone live in a scum city like Jacksonville? Better yet, why would anyone want to live in a sh*ty state like Florida? It’s hot, flat, racist, crime ridden and full of d*khead politicians. Then you have the Cuban mafia in the south still whining about Castro kicking them out of the country. You can keep Floriduh….maybe it will sink into the ocean someday.

It IS totally illegal to make them put a sign in thier yard it would be then the STATE COMPELLING SPEECH ! Janice filed against in here in CA and the LAME POS CDCR Caved in !! Just like the TYPICAL SCUM that the CDCR is !

Oh Florida, I’ll probably burst into flames 🔥 once I reach there jurisdiction of course I’ll be completely lawyer up while organizing in there state. Unfortunately I gotta clean the mess here in my own backyard before I can even attempt to help people in another state but rest assurer I’ll be out there too publicly speaking and organizing youth offenders mark my words, by 2025 I’ll be a household name.

I encourage you too comment on this article by following the link on the post. If you read the comments people on our side really dominated when the article was first published. If we keep making noise maybe the news station will take notice and start trying to look at the facts we are bringing to their attention.

Jacksonville should worry more about recovering from Hurricane Ian and prepare for future hurricanes. Leave the BS Halloween signs of the agenda. There are more pressing things.
