Can we just accept that this hearing is not going to happen.

O.K. Now who had the 21st as the new court date…….you win an all expense paid trip to Orlando Florida. Remember your trip will include overnight stay at Orlando jail for not telling them you were a registrant, a prepaid Visa card to take care of the Uber trip to and from the homeless encampment (only place you are allowed to stay) and a free meal from a taco truck, as long as it isn’t parked in front of a school, a park, a store with kids in front, a daycare, a bus stop, a mall or a public pool. HAVE FUN!
The next drawing will be on the 20th Dec. have your guesses in at least a week in advance. Remember to put the Full date, year included. I pick July 31st, 2028.

Wow, almost a year after the DoJ changed the law, we’re finally going to get some clarifications. Maybe…

Well now there’s a shocker!!!

We all know the Federal Department of Injustice (DOI) will delay as much as possible. And we all know it will most likely take many years to resolve this case including appeals. Very frustrating for everyone other that the DOI. But at least someone is fighting for change.

Delayed justice is denied justice

Perhaps a small set of people protesting with permission near the district court would be impetus enough to hear the case. I’m wondering what the position is of the CA state’s bar Association?
It could be argued fed is denying a class of CA citizens (as individuals aligned) due process…! This issue denotes a larger breakdown and it impacts every state’s power relative to the fed.

Out of curiosity, what was the reason USAG cited for needing another continuance? And do they keep citing the same reason for every other continuance they’ve been getting for the past, what, 2 years?

Please tell me we object or at least respond to the endless continuance requests. If not, I would think the court would view it as indifference on our part.

Okay, how about a quick fact check for you grumpy, naysaying curmudgeons: The original motion was filed on May 23, 2022. The Hearing for that Motion, despite several delays, took place in late September 2022 (just 4 months after the filing!! 😲 )
This Amended Motion was just filed last month (October 2022) …. and the Hearing is scheduled for December (2 months after the Amended Motion was filed).

Now seriously, you feel like this is moving slowly?? Really?? 🙄

I suggest you sit back, relax, and enjoy…… ’cause PLF is gonna kick some DOJ butt! 😃🤗

*que the 🎄 🎶 Christmas carol! 🎶 🎁

Maybe the Fed prosecutor is wanting Judgeship position or even wanting to run for public office. If so, they don’t want this on their record if they lose the appeal. So delay until they can find someone else to take it.
Maybe the judge is retiring soon and prosecutor knows the next one will be more sympathetic to them.
Maybe ACSOL asks for a change of Prosecutor (Can that even be done? Don’t know).

Is this hearing for everyone on this bull shit or just for the ones in California?

I’m wondering if any here doubt fed SORNA is about child rearing disguised as regulatory intent upon convicted felons?

So is this hearing about everyone having a chance to be reclassified instead of automatically placed in a Tier 3 based on their charge or charges?

Its craps that can do this but its in our favor the DOJ Is trying to gather all information to win their case.. If they had solid prof of Standing they would have presented all relevant facts..

Thank you, ACSOL, for notification of the delayed/rescheduled hearing. Not entirely surprising. 🤷🏻‍♂️ So I’ll just update my calendar to Friday, January 13th.👍🏻

🤞🏻Fingers crossed that Friday the 13th will prove luck for us!! https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/14.0.0/svg/1f91e-1f3fb.svg

I heard from a reliable source that DOJ is waiting until hell freezes over. And how can a hearing that will never take place be viewed online….. 🤔 🤫
Honestly, I can’t even remember when the original hearing date was.

Are they hoping people won’t show up because the date is ever changing? All I can say is that these delays will have more people attend either in person or virtually. More and more people who may have not known about this will now have time to find out and attend. Not bad.

Why is this even still happening? This has to be some sort of constitutional violation. The right to fair trial or hearing or something to force them to go through with this. I know throwing in the towel would end it but that’s just giving them what they want and we don’t want that . I mean contact the president or someone above the DOJ and say what the hell. These peoples lives are up in the air because DOJ is abusing their power. SOMEONE DO SOMETHING!!!!!! This is bulshit.

@ B1 and Lone Ranger: Relax. Take a breath. It is not unusual for court dates to be changed or parties to seek a continuance. It’s quite normal.
Lone Ranger: The original hearing date for this amended Motion was last week on Dec. 5th. Then it was moved to Dec. 21st. And now it’s been moved to Friday, Jan. 13th. This is not unusual – especially during the holiday season.
B1: Again, relax. Deep breaths. Yes, there’s been a postponement – but we don’t even know who requested it. It may have been the judge’s decision to reschedule it! Who knows?
The case is moving forward.
Delays and reschedulings are normal.

Explain to me like I am 5.
If we win this,
Then what laws will be removed?
I see that PA already have this unconstitutional

Instead of updating the hearing date by day and month, you could save time by updating the the next hearing by YEAR!

Ah “Lone Ranger”, always so upbeat and optimistic!
The lawsuit is moving forward. PLF will succeed or will appeal.
But, hey, your positive, uplifting comments fuel us forward! 🤗😂

Oh to the happy naysayers (I’m looking at you, “Lone Ranger”!😄)
Here is a re-cap for you all:

On October 12th, we were informed (via this website) that “the amended complaint was filed after a federal district court hearing held on September 26, 2022 ….
The hearing date for that motion could take place in late 2022 or early 2023.”
Then we were informed that “hearing for this motion has been set for December 5.
Then it was rescheduled to December 21st.
And now it has been rescheduled to Friday, January 13th – an easy date to remember.
Note that this Friday hearing date is important because the Court does most it’s business earlier in the week, leaving Friday for more lengthy arguments by the parties’ and more extensive questioning by the judge.

I hope everyone will attend the Jan. 13th zoom hearing! 👍🏻

Reminder that there is only 10 days left before they delay the hearing again……………..🥱

I do care that the Hearing goes forward…. Yes, whatever the decision, this case is likely to be appealed…. then appealed again…. and again.
It is my understanding that the PLF intends to take this as far up the judicial system as necessary.
