In California, do Registrants have the legal ability to change their name?
Also, if one is removed from CA’s Registry, would one then have the legal ability to change one’s name??

Not sure if I am posting in the correct area since I am new to this site, so my apologies in advance if I have posted in the wrong area.
I felt that I was on the path to freedom and liberty until I was fired from my job after five months of employment and the reason of course was because of my background. It’s been going two months since this happened and I can’t even get unemployment. Any all suggestions would be great!!

Two questions,
The indictment has nothing to do with Trump’s sexual relationship with the porn star. It’s the cover up and not paying taxes on hush money that got him in trouble. I find it interesting that you believe Nathan Fletcher “deserves” what is coming over sexual allegations concerning his relationships between two consenting adults. But you have problems with people “gloating” over Trump’s indictment which you “perceive” has to do with sex.
I am on federal probation, 10 years, for 1 count of possession of child pornography & I have completed 5 years of that without incident. Has anyone here heard of a federal probationer successfully petitioning to end their supervision early?

On one side we have to necessity of criminal justice reform.
On the other side we have vast amounts of crying about the rise in crime rates and those bemoaning, “Criminals are now a protected class.” ( Tucker Carlson Fox news)
Perhaps Mr. Carlson forgot about the intent of Art.1 sec.9.
A statement protecting criminals specifically from Congress and congressional intent. So yes, criminals are a protected class as was intended by the ratified document. Criminals are also protected by due process and representation.
Without realizing it Mr. Carlson bemoans the failure of the criminal justice system to provide continuing peace. IMO the crux of the failure he describes rests in the notion of fair trials doctrine and the overuse of the plea bargain and standard waiver of civil right, signed necessarily and intelligently by the charged party. It is through these methods Americans are groomed into surrendering their civil rights at a weak moment.
Any opinions on whether the outcome of the WI Supreme Court election may impact cases against the registry in that state?
I just recived my new passport, I’ve looked , I do not see any special identifer mark . I am off the register now . I was still afraid a new pass port would have “the mark ” Does any one know where it would be on a passport . I don’t see any.

While this may be something that has already been brought up, I was thinking “how can states that you were not convicted in have jurisdiction over you if you happen to move there?” I am studying in legal studies and found the following:

In the decision of Pennoyer v. Neff, 95 U.S. 714 (1877), the Supreme Court stated “proceedings in a court of justice to determine the personal rights and obligations of parties over whom that court has no jurisdiction do not constitute due process of law.”
To me that states that since we do not live in any given state, they can’t deprive us of any life, liberty , property WITHOUT DUE PROCESS OF THE LAW.” To me that says we can’t be guilty in another state and have to meet requirements to register since there was no due process of the law in that particular state.
Maybe I am over my head, what do you all think?
Another day in paradise! I was just given word that the gossip around the marina is about me this year. Evidently some busy body discovered my registry status and is now attempting to get me thrown out. I bought and paid for the slip for the season. I suppose the boat may be vulnerable to vandalism but I dont think they can legally throw me out just because Im on the registry. Michigan has some very strict laws concerning this. The end of this season I suppose its time to move on to a different marina.

Does anyone have experience with the tiered registry petition process in Fresno? I filed my petition about 8 months ago (September) and I have heard nothing? I looked on the court website and it shows my case being filed and the law enforcement response a few days later, and the district attorney response (not objecting) a few weeks after the law enforcement response, but then nothing after that? How do I get the petition in front of a judge to sign, do I need to go back to the court and do something else?
With all the recent hullabaloo regarding AI chatbots, it struck me that perhaps one could leverage them to our advantage. If one can task ChaosGPT to work on destroying humanity and ChatGPT can whip up a false story about a law professor, why can’t one task one of these tools to work on a lawsuit attacking Smith? There is plenty of case law and research out there for the bot to (tirelessly!) seek out and use.

4. Are you still working for ___employer___?
5. Are there any computers in the house and, if so, what kind?

What can I do ? I just registered for my 9th year , I had not received my Tier level status so I asked what it was and they told me that I was on Tier 3 !
I am devastated I felt sure I would be a 1 . I have no criminal record except to this charge and my victim was 30yo .Do you have any advice for me ?

I’ve been embarrassed, shunned, judged and labeled. The “PUNISHMENT” has been unbearable but the one effect that out-punishes all others is the removal of all hope of living a normal life. Trying to reintegrate into normal society has proven impossible. Not sure how this isn’t cruel and unusual punishment
