I have a question if can I go back to court and get A felony reduced to a misdemeanor 17(b) if it’s already been dismissed under 1203.4 ????
Anyone from Texas has news or heard anything that’s in litigations? I can’t find anything. I thought NARSOL would be pushing for new laws allowing long term tier 3 people at least petition to get off. But they send me emails asking me to buy a barbecue grill.
Look at all those banks failing and being seized in CA and elsewhere. How many of these institutions were making highly speculative loans (bad bets) to internet start ups ( database driven firms). You can bet they were. The advent of SOR regime was based on erroneous speculation too.
Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo, 22-451 would the ruling in this case be helpful to us? This case involves Federal entities stepping in to make the rules and regulations when a law isn’t clear. I am wondering if this would enable us to challenge the Justice Department’s making their own interpretations of SORA laws when they aren’t so clear in the first place.
Just to let everyone know to have hope in the system, my petition for release from the registry was filed on March 10 and I got granted on April 20 so that’s a little over a month from start to finish so there is hope out there to have a fast results

Just to give some hope for people about the tiered registry , I submitted my petition on March 10th and got my petition granted on April 20th, very fast , so good things do happen just have a little faith and hope.
This is probably a crazy question but can you hired an out of state attorney that’s willing to take a look at your case? I’m not having any luck with anyone attorneys calling me back. I received deferred adjudication probation which for my charges in return i would not have a conviction on my record when i was 18 also as I completed the probation without any issues. Originally in only had to do 20 years of registration and was supposed to be off 2017 but now It’s been going on 26 years. I never went to prison I wasn’t convicted haven’t charged with another felony since then. The thing is i was coerced my a dirty detective into a statement about things that did happen. When i first refused i was threatened with 99 years in prison i didn’t listen to him. Even though i never touched the female he coerced me to say see we did in to separate times. So it looked like it was consensual. Me not knowing she was under age at the time, i when along with it. But knowing the fact i never touch her i thought should be ok. Be that detective know was he was doing. Since i was 18 and she was underage it didn’t matter if it was consensual. And he hit me with 2 separate charges. There’s no DNA and physical evidence, nothing. I they said happen to this girl happened then when there isn’t any evidence? I went down there voluntary, but he never read me my Miranda rights. When i was told why i was being arrested i was confused. They said for and underage a girl, i said how i never did any also she told me she was 15 or 16, i was still 17 when i met her. But she like me and wanted to be my girlfriend but i had a girl and plus she wasn’t attractive to me, Also i did like a another girl she was with. I just an attorney would just take a look at my case, without that coerced statement, there’s nothing there. She’s been proved an liar before. By the people the the trailer park she used to live in.

Just throwing this out there – Read yesterday that Japan is looking to propose this year to raise their age of consent from 13 to 16 (the lowest age of consent of the G7 countries currently). This move will make Germany lowest at 14 with France at 15 next while becoming in line with the UK and the US.
HOTELS – the question that I have is this – are there any hotel chains who screen their guests for being on any sex offense registry? Typically this would be done via the National Sex Offense Registry. As this site has all the states registry info in one place. 🙁
We all know most cruise lines screen and do not allow registrants on board but what about hotels? I would prefer to know rather than make a reservation and find out.
Any one have any negative experiences OR know of a resource with this info?
Petition filed March 8th and got petition granted April 23rd. 26 years of registration coming to an end.
Anyone from Texas know if you can petition the courts to have any of your charges reduced after so many years if you was place on deferred adjudication probation? since technically you wasn’t convicted.
A few years ago a YouTuber with over 1.5 million subscribers came out against the registry. I wonder how he feels now and if he’d be willing to talk to people involved in the movement. I sent him an email and waiting to see if I get a response.
I contacted the LA County Public Defender Post Conviction group today and was informed there is no LAWYER assigned to them at this time. They said maybe 4-6 weeks before they get a new one. They did give me my Petition Number does anyone know if there is a website to track the Petition? I am told they think it is going though the process. Also is it required to have personal attendance at the final court date?

Things are really good here. Can’t say the same for my niece back home. She was using my Reddit account to log into a car subgroup I belonged to. I gave her my car when I moved. I forgot that I had commented on an offender Reddit and some guy searched her username history after a comment she posted. He found my old posts and the shit storm of comments were piled on her. Calling her a pedo monster, a freak and “ go hang yourself”. She simply reported him, deleted account and let me know she doesn’t feel that way about me. It’s another example of hate being spewed by people that have zero idea about whom they are commenting to or what they are commenting on.
I recommend you use burner accounts if you haven’t already. Hate for this to happen to anyone else’s loved ones.

I have a question for those in CA who have been able to escape the Registry through petition. I am working with Post Conviction of Public Defenders and they do not currently have an attorney. I was told my Petition is moving to a courst date the end of May but no idea if I need to attend or not. Who has the experience and did you attend the court hearings

It is obvious to me based upon numerous comments regarding the verdict today against Trump the public thinks of the sex registry as additional punishment, of course something we all already know.
Los Angeles Public Defender John Schneider handle my petition, the guy was always complaining about having to work on 290 petitions in the post conviction unit, he literally forced his paralegal to do all the work and he didn’t show up to any of the court hearings, He just filed the petitions and left it up to your mandatory minimum time period and the district attorney The guy did not have any compassion for anybody he was working with.
He also told me that he wouldn’t be doing petitions anymore and the public defender office needs to find somebody else to do it, I guess John finally got his wish.
The supervisor I talk to on the phone said they are not happy about it and that they need 3 to 4 weeks to regroup, I didn’t tell the supervisor how poorly John Schneider was handling the petitions Because they’re all public defenders and you never know how close that person might be to the supervisor and if you ever need their help in the future you can find yourself being blackballed.
I regret not going to all my hearings because it would’ve definitely speed up the process.
luckily for me when the district attorney denied my 290 petition she didn’t put an estimated time on when I can re-petition, so once my 17(b) motion is granted I can file my petition.
So with Trump being found guilty of sexual abuse today in New York, and New York classifies sexual abuse as a sex offense in the state of New York, Is Donald Trump going to be placed on the New York Sex Offenders Registry??? Remember ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL…. AND NO MAN IS ABOVE THE LAW!!! Come on politicians do your job…
