Danny Masterson was transferred from the Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles to the North Kern State Prison on Wednesday, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).
Masterson, 47, was pictured wearing an orange jumpsuit in a mugshot provided by the CDCR to Fox News Digital.
In September, the “That ’70s Show” actor was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison after being found guilty in May on two counts of forcible rape. A jury was hung on a third charge.
Danny Masterson’s 30-year to life sentence seems a tad excessive and I hope it gets drastically reduced. Thoughts?
When you have “law & order” Fox News commenters saying his sentence was unfair, that says a lot right there. His conviction was based on he said/she said testimony of something that took place 20 years ago. Why didn’t she report the rape back then? These sex crime laws have gotten out of control in this country.
Even IF he makes it to parole – or by luck an early release – he won’t have much of anything resembling a normal life once out. Western culture doesn’t give a second chance on their puritanical sex values and beliefs. And of course he will be forced to register and thus deemed basically undesirable, unhireable, and forever unhappy. Not to mention the snubbing and shunning from his kids.
The sentencing follows excessive civil penalties for cases involving sex. If you lose a limb on the job because of employer negligence, that’s maybe $100,000. Sexual harassment in the workplace? Could be worth millions. We’ve decided our mental wellbeing is worth orders of magnitude more than our physical wellbeing.
We are working on a story of why we believe that Danny Masterson should be immediately released. When the story is complete it will be posted at vocalhome.blogspot.com.
Celebrities are high profile, so in order to survive he will have to stay in segregation/protective custody (if that option is even available). As I understand it, some facilities typically keep vulnerable prisoners seperated from the mainline by default (although I could be mistaken about that,) and when someone is well known, the risk to their life is increased exponentially. Best of luck to him, he’s going to need it.
I believe these are the same “victims” that got him kicked off that 70s show with the same accusations as soon as the ranch was in it’s second season they somehow brought the charges against him again sounds shady as shit to me
