[ACSOL is posting this to show the false statements and assumptions of their law enforcement]
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office has scheduled a community meeting to inform the public about a sex offender moving into the Town of Cottage Grove. The virtual meeting will be Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 5 p.m.
…
“An informed public is a safer public,” the notification read in part.
The Sheriff’s Office stressed “citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated.”
Does the town have a meeting when a murderer moves into town? Does the town have a meeting when someone with a DUI who killed someone moves into town? Does the town have a meeting when someone found guilty of selling drugs to minors moves to town? Does the town have a meeting when someone found guilty of beating (assaulting) his wife moves to town?
All to educate the public so the informed public can then be a safer public… If the answer is no to the above questions, then in my opinion that demonstrates LE has NO interest for a safer public and its actions are just done for hate reasons.
“citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass … will not be tolerated.”
But you’ll have no problem with putting his name out there knowing … good and well people can and do use “this information” to harass and intimidate. The hypocrisy reeks to high heaven. Wonder what skeletons of misdeeds these people have hiding in their closets they’ve never been caught for? Huh? We need to be informed if you stole a candy bar 37 yrs ago! We need to know!
“An informed public is a safer public,”
Wrong.
Your opinions are not facts.
There is no established link between “community notification” and prevention. None. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

The headline describing the guy as a derogatory label is incorrect.
One conviction (35+ years old) should not define a person’s entire life. But that is a problem with the derogatory label. It dehumanizes — reduces that person to that thing.
Perhaps a few people more knowledgeable about the registry could connect to the Zoom meeting.
Well, if the Sheriff’s Department doesn’t want the public to threaten, harass, or intimidate him, what’s the point of announcing his arrival?
Those cheese heads smoked this guy! After sitting in prison since the 80s, they likely sent him to Sand Ridge. That’s where Wisconsin “reprograms” people like him, but he was lucky those tyrants released him. God knows how long he was in that hospital. I’m really surprised WI DOC would release him in Cottage Grove, and not next door in Madison which has less restrictions and more resources for this man. Madison probably told DOC f*ck.you! We’re tired of you dumping those people on us! Lol! I remember Cottage Grove as an upscale bedroom community–not the perfect fit for this man. Unless he wants to live amongst scared people with pitchforks.
