Bill, drafted by the Idaho Family Policy Center, was inspired by drag shows held in public parks in Coeur d’Alene and Boise
The Idaho House widely passed a bill to limit youth access to public performances considered “indecent sexual exhibitions,” such as drag shows.
House Bill 230, sponsored by Rep. Ted Hill, R-Eagle, would require event hosts and organizers to “take reasonable steps to restrict” minors’ access to public performances that involve “live persons engaged in sexual conduct,” if such performances are “patently offensive to an average person applying contemporary community standards in the adult community.”
Minors exposed would have a cause of action under the bill, giving them standing in lawsuits.
The bill’s statement of purpose says the legislation “uses the same indecency standard utilized by the federal government to determine whether content is appropriate for daytime television.”
Calling the bill “constitutionally sound,” Hill told House lawmakers the bill’s focus is to create “a duty of care for” providers or performers of “sexually indecent exhibitions.”
“I see that the goal posts, as they say, are moving. What is acceptable? The reason why the government needs to step in (is) because the boundary keeps moving farther and farther out. And that’s where it’s time for us to say, ‘Let’s, let’s protect our children,’” Hill said.
The Idaho House of Representatives passed the bill after little debate Monday on a 54-11 vote. All of the Idaho House’s nine Democrats voted against the bill, joined by two Republicans.
Children are in the influential stages of their life and they don’t need to be exposed to this kind of thing either in the classroom or the public. Do any of you allow your children to watch X-rated material?? Some of you might whine and say this is government overreach, which it is not. It is a common sense bill to protect children from unnecessary exposure, that is unless you think children, even your own children should be exposed to this kind of material. There is a reason it is illegal for pornography to be sold to minors just like guns, alcohol, cigarettes, etc.
Just for clarity, a drag show is not by necessity an indecent sexual exhibition. It depends upon what the made-up cross-dresser(s) is/are actually showing and doing. Cross-dressing, singing and dancing is an age-old tradition, with roots in the United Kingdom and carried on for decades in New Orleans, Las Vegas, etc. Are non-sexual drag shows appropriate for children? That’s up to the parents to decide. Should they be held in public schools? That’s up to the local school board to decide. I realize that for some of these zealots, simple cross-dressing is an abomination. Get over yourselves.
So someone in a drag show is “a live person engaged in sexual conduct”? At a minimum, this is yet another total waste of taxpayer resources and money; people are spending time and energy on this nonsense when they should be addressing serious problems in our society. At its worst, this is the continuing infringement of our rights to express ourselves while distorting the term sexual conduct.
Remember, you’re not allowed to disagree. If the Reich says it is indecent, then it is! If the Reich commands you to prohibit your child from viewing it, you will obey, or suffer the consequences of your disobedience!
These laws have nothing to do with “exposure” and are just Reich Morality Laws that all must obey or be destroyed. Like all Reich Justice, there will be two, mutual exclusive polar opposite standards employed.
Karen and Darren never need fear Reich Justice no matter how many interspecies dungeon Porn videos Daren Jr watches with his completely unsupervised Internet access. However, take your 4 year old to hear a drag queen read them fairy tales at the library, and you will pay for your insolence!
Now, let’s talk about those magazines your Mom found under your bed all those years ago… what will these laws demand are true about her?
* Innocent Victim of the Boogyman, like K&D?
* Immoral Sex Witch that must be crushed by Reich Justice?
If these laws had ANYTHING to do with the “Dangers of exposure”… the answer would be obvious, especially if she let you keep them?
