UK: Migrants convicted of sex crimes to be denied asylum

Source: thetimes.com/uk/ 4/29/25

Migrants convicted of sexual offences will be barred from claiming asylum under new rules announced by the government, although they could still use human rights law to block their removal.

Refugees already granted asylum will be stripped of their right to remain in the UK if they are convicted of sex offences. They will also be made eligible for deportation even if their sentence is below 12 months, the current cut-off point for removals.

The move is the latest measure by Sir Keir Starmer’s government to tackle the small boats crisis as the number of migrants crossing the Channel edges closer to 10,000 this year. Some 9,885 migrants have arrived so far, a record high for this time of the year, and Border Force is braced for a flurry of arrivals this week due to warm weather.

The crackdown on migrant sex offenders will apply to asylum seekers and refugees who commit an offence that places them on the sex offenders register — which includes crimes attracting sentences of less than 12 months.

Oh Dear! I guess we can scratch the UK off our list in case the sh*t hits the fan in Amerika, and they start shipping us to El Salvador. But there still is hope, given that other countries have given asylum to Americans due to their nation’s harsh registry laws. I’m sure Mr. Whitsett is enjoying himself in Germany. And lest not forget Denise Harvey who escaped Floriduh and was given personal protection by the Canucks. However, they’re likely to be less generous 😞 to Americans these days, with the trade wars & threats of annexation to be the 51st state.
