Now that armed Homeland Security Investigators are breaking into citizen’s homes during the middle of the night, putting the citizens outside in underwear in bad weather by gunpoint and then stealing all cash and electronics, how much longer will it be before they start doing this to people forced to register?
American mother, daughters terrorized by ICE in botched search for immigrants: Report
Now our government wants more babies, so I have a proposal: stop criminalizing sex, get out of others bedrooms, mind your own business, and abolish the registry.
Know what I find amazing? The sheer volume of articles and stories about people with a sex offense that are written and re-printed here. How do legislatures and municipalities get ANYTHING else done? Their preoccupation with demonizing a particular segment of the population is pathological! Honestly, I seriously doubt those here that were convicted of a “sex crime” actually thought about it as much as the people attempting to find new ways to criminalize it.
Alabama could send inmates to foreign prisons under proposed bill: ‘Our prisons are too soft’
More than likely won’t hold up in court he says. But I mean judges can be persuaded.
He says it won’t pass this time but looks like there trying.
A Pennsylvania teacher was arrested for raping her 16 year old student. Another example of someone not on the registry committing a sex offense. When will the public realize that people forced to register aren’t currently committing crimes and those closest to their children are the biggest risks.
As I get closer to being off the registry ( filed 14 days ago ), I am coming to the reality that what I did 10 yrs ago will be with me forever, and I do mean forever. If relatives speak of me , they will likely zero on in on my offense. If someone looks me up on line it will probably direct them to “ the list”.
Sure, I won’t have to sit next to some lowlife in the noisy, smelly front room of a police dept. waiting for my name to be called for a photo and fingerprints, just to repeat it again in a yr. on that glorious celebration of life we call birthdays. Nor will I have to schedule another visit to that same police if I decide to buy a car, sell a car or get a nicer place to live. But is that really the worst part of the registry?
The lies about my life will be easier to tell to others because there will be a grain of truth to them that won’t be able to be exposed by a simple background check. But they will still be lies. And I will always know it.
The registry is now so engrained into my life that no matter where I go, I will know why I travelled there. To attempt to escape something that can’t be shed.
I will go forward. I will have longer moments, maybe even days, where that feeling of “What did I do” doesn’t creep into my brain. But it will find a way in.
The dangers of a registry and those who administer it as well as unintentionally sharing the pain related to it with others who are not PFRs…
Texas Closed Its Investigation Against These Parents. Why Are Their Names on a Child Abuse Registry? (Reason.com 30 Apr 2025)
Is anyone following the case of an Indian man falsely accused of attempted kidnapping at a Walmart in Georgia? Newly released surveillance footage clearly backs up the man’s claim that he was only preventing a mother’s child from falling off a mobility cart due to her negligence. Georgia officials are holding this man on no bond kidnapping charges. If this could happen to him, think what would happen to a person on the registry. Folks, think twice about assisting any child in danger!
Better news…now the game plan is to re-open Alcatraz to hold “ruthless” people. I guess this means us PFR will now be housed there (as the government and the public consider us “ruthless” people) vs the gulag in El Salvador. At least we get to stay in the country until a new regime is in place to release us.
Extremely infrequent poster here.
My 20 years is finally up in California. Most attorneys charge well over $1k for assistance in filing a petition for relief. Has anyone done it yourself, or is an attorney very much suggested for this?
Has anyone had their gun rights restored and what was the process?
does anyone have info on vigilanties stalking registrants and others they don’t like?
@J.Brown. Agreed. It’s a learned response. Kick me in the face, steal my rights, and stab me in the back, then don’t expect me to give Xmas presents, donate to girl scouts, or any other organizations. I’ll never get the 20 yrs of oppression and intrusion back. So if the aclu lawsuit does make changes, I’ll still hold fast to staunch refusal of any aid to children outside of my immediate family.
Posted this in April right before the General Comments rolled over to May, so posting again:
California registrant (federal possession conviction) here. Wife and I are expecting a baby later this year, and need to start looking into daycare options. Looking at the presence restriction laws in California, I know of the following one regarding registrants entering schools:
PEN § 626.81 – (a) A person who is required to register… Section 290, who comes into any school building or upon any school ground without lawful business thereon and written permission indicating the date or dates and times for which permission has been granted from the chief administrative official of that school, is guilty of a misdemeanor.
I did not find anything in this code section related to daycares. Is anyone aware of any requirements for notification to the daycare (assuming it is not part of a school)?
I know there is another code that mentions daycare, but that section seems to be related to senior care/assisted living and applies to registrants with convictions involving seniors.
Any input is appreciated. Obviously once they get to school age we’ll need to deal with notifying the school unless god willing the legislature takes up the CALSOMB recommendations to revise the tiering for CP and I can get off the registry before then.
Hi I am in search of information regarding someone who is under 290 and wants to come home back CA from Nevada. does anyone know will he have to get the GPS tracking device if he come here to CA? Is there a timeframe for being able to take advantage of the tier reduction his cv was in 2000? he has no other related convictions. although he will be released from prison on 5/21 in NV hes been railroaded in NV way to long. thank you in advance your help is greatly appreciated.
Matt Gaetz visited El Salvador’s mega-prison and saw people drained of hope. He then pitched it to Stephen Miller. Matt Gaetz was given a tour of the facility, which human rights groups have described as a ‘tropical gulag’ rife with abuses
“The conditions had zapped the inhabitants of any will to fight — It’s tough to see the state of the human condition drained of hope.” Gaetz told TIME.
If you’re cognizant and pay very close attention to what lawmakers tell the media, you’ll find they tell on themselves with their true intentions.
And that’s exactly what the registry is designed to do. They want us to remain docile and compliant under threat of incarceration with this demoralizing and dis-empowering registry scheme.
Punishing the collective for the actions of a handful. It’s mob mentality wish-fulfillment for votes.
Mandatory background checks at my job this week, we’re working at LAX it’s a 3 year project. Today my employer called me and told me I passed and come pick up my badge.
I was nervous at first and surprised when I passed because I’ve never passed one before and I only been off the registry for 6 months so I thought something would pop up but nothing. Everything else on my record I got a 17(b) and 1203.4 so I’m not quite sure what they can and can’t see.
All I can say is hang in there if you got 10 or 20 years left on the registry I guess there’s still hope depending on your age.
Watch out for FTR charges and be careful when traveling out of state and always be aware of your surroundings.
To all the people who are stuck on the registry for life, what are you gonna do about it are you gonna fight back or are you gonna hide in the shadows waiting for some new law to pass, that could take forever, Nows the time to speak up and let your voices be heard donate and support ACSOL whit everything you have because their the closest you’re ever gonna get to a shot at freedom.
Trump has expedited the expulsion or deportation of people he designated as “criminals”. He has also all but halted all designated refugee immigration. Then why is the state Dept expediting the refugee immigration of WHITE Africaaners, two of which have been convicted of felonies in S. Africa!
They are providing these people with housing, jobs, food, clothing. But so many in the PFR COMMUNITY as legit citizens can’t get any of that. The political and social hypocrisy is off the charts! A reckoning is coming.
OMGosh! 😲 A former “Teacher of the Year” from San Diego County has just today been sentenced to 30 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to four sex offenses.
Maybe I am a bit biased, but WTF is going on with these EXTREME SENTENCES?? 🤯
The President’s HUD Section 8 budget proposal will produce a 43% reduction in benefits connected to housing assistance if approved by Congress. This will negatively impact many individuals including the recently incarcerated (Tier 1 and 2 registrants among them) as well as so many people who truly need the help.
Government Argues It’s Too Much To Ask the FBI To Check the Address Before Blowing Up a Home
The Department of Justice told the Supreme Court there were “policy tradeoffs that an officer makes” in determining if he should “take one more extra precaution” to make sure he’s at the right house. (Reason.com 9 May 2025)
Really?! The implications of this are wide and far reaching if allowed, IMO.

Would be nice if other States followed suit. This only makes sense as long as a registry has to exist. In person registration is punishment since the registrant could not travel during that time and on top of that is booked as if arrested. Fingerprints and photo taken without one’s consent. PARSOL accomplished this: PENNSYLVANIA UPDATE: PA Registrants Tier II & III Can Now Register By Telephone (after 3 years of compliance) after one annual in-person visit when there are no info changesMaybe someone can post the actual link to this decision.
I still believe we are slowly getting closer to us registrants being sent to a gulag with no due process. There has already been talk of sending out with no due process the home growns and the despicable criminals (meaning violent criminals and those on a sex registry in my opinion). There has already been talk by the president of not following the constitution and give due process. The adm has done nothing to comply with court cases to return people, are now openly talking about sending people to a war zone in Libya, and now there is talk of declaring war and initiating martial law and suspending writ of habeas corpus.
Let’s see, minors under the age of 18 cannot legally consent to sexual relations because they have no knowledge of that area of life due to their immaturity and lack of brain development.
However, three teenagers from Florida can kidnap a man in Las Vegas, drive him to the desert an hour outside of it and across the state line in Arizona, steal $4M in cryptocurrency from him, and leave him in the desert…then, be certified as adults for charging and have a $4M bail set. (This is all true when you look it up online.)
Tell me again how young adults under the age of 18 are classified as minors, can’t legally have sex, or know anything about it yet they can do this adult action? Sounds pretty adult to me regardless if it’s sexually related or financially related.
I am all for victims obtaining any state paid counseling that he/she deems necessary. I believe in punishment for accountability AND rehabilitation for [people who committed a sex crime] to prevent another offense. I believe the punishment should fit the crime. In my opinion, it is better to try to prevent an offense from happening than to just add harsher punishment – I thought it was all about saving a child?
I am finding that from listening the last few legislative sessions to testimony from victims on proposed bills in my state, not once have I heard any testifying victim advocate for prevention educational measures, rehabilitation to prevent another crime or state paid counseling, but in every case advocated for harsher punishment for others in the future.
For example in one instance, a person more than one time illegally violated privacy rights of an underage victim, never touched the victim, was sent to prison for that crime and for child porn and had to register for ten years after release from prison for the child porn but not for the violation of the privacy rights which required no registration.
The now adult testifying victim was pushing for the privacy rights offense which is punishable to go from no required registration to lifetime registration. Of course the committee legislators with full consent sent the bill out for a full legislative vote for lifetime registration. In my opinion, if a victim is never touched, and if the offense is registerable, the registration should be less than lifetime. (On another note and I am sure none of you will be surprised, the person above was not previously on the registry, lived with the victim, and was in law enforcement.)
The prosecutor testifying for the bill mentioned the word “punishment” when testifying for lifetime registration. In my opinion, prosecutors do not care about prevention and rehabilitation, but only care about punishment.
