PA: Rep. aims to prohibit sex offenders from becoming parents through surrogacy

A Pennsylvania Representative announced plans to introduce legislation that would address a gap in the Commonwealth’s child protection laws.

The bill, authored by Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Butler, Lawrence), aims to close a loophole that allows registered sex offenders to become parents through surrogacy. While the current law prohibits registered sex offenders from adopting or fostering a child, surrogacy arrangements are not covered by these prohibitions.

“This loophole was recently brought to light in a deeply disturbing case in which a Tier I sexual offender – who was previously convicted of sexually abusing a minor – was successful in lawfully obtaining full legal parentage of a child through surrogacy,” Berstine wrote. “Because the surrogacy process did not trigger the adoption-related protections in current law, the individual’s alarming criminal history did not prevent him from securing a court order designating him as a legal parent.”

Then under the same mindset of legislative thinking:
No one convicted of drunk driving should be allowed to operate any motor vehicle
No one convicted of domestic violence should be allowed to date or marry.
No one convicted of selling fentanyl, heroin, etc. should be allowed to have ANY human interaction, including but not limited to immediate family.
No one convicted of breaking-and-entering should be allowed to reside anywhere near any structure of human habitation, warehousing, or storage, or possess ANY tools that could facilitate further criminal activity.
If they believe this kind of legislative mindset is successful at preventing crime, it should be applied across the board to ALL criminals-NOT just one group.

Aaron should have his balls removed for being a d*p sh*t.

I don’t think you can tell a couple what they can do with their sperm and eggs when it comes to family rights. Won’t pass constitutional muster in the court.

With just a little digging, I found this news article from 2020 about the illustrious state representative Aaron Bernstine:

https://www.spotlightpa.org/news/2020/10/pa-aaron-bernstine-gop-leaders-resign-vulgar-videos/

Essentially, Bernstine instructed his then 5 year old son to use a vulgarity to describe the private parts of females, all while video taping this bizarre interaction. The son, along with one of the son’s friends who was also present, were then instructed by Bernstine to engage in a game called “Kiss, Marry, or Kill”, wherein the little tykes were given the names of 3 people and told to decide which of the three they would either “kiss, marry, or kill”, Bernstine posted this video to his Snapchat account, where others viewed it, according to the accounts from those who saw it. Once it was known, the Republican leader of the State House, where state representative Bernstine is employed, said that those who were familiar with the events were “disgusted”, and called for Bernstine’s resignation.

Subsequently, Bernstine apologized, stating that he made “errors in judgment” and took “jokes too far” during a family vacation. (I found no information one way or another as to Bernstine’s sobriety at the time of his actions). Bernstine also expressed the need to “do a much better job as a role model for my child”.

How incredibly ironic that we now find Bernstine as the one seeking to regulate others in respect to having children.

Back in 2020 Aaron was with his 5 yr old son telling him to hit it ( a cigar) and breathe in. He also had his son and a son’s friend play, ” Kiss, marry or kill” while looking at people . He apologized saying it was a joke. He also sponsored a child abuse registry and sounds like he should be on it. He should kiss his political career good-bye and voters in his district should kiss his butt out of office.

Aaron kiss your ego, marry your hand, and kill your political career with your immature behavior.
