Please join ACSOL and others in an effort to persuade Etsy to remove anti-registrant merchandise from its website. The merchandise at issue includes messages on clothing and bumper stickers such as “Shoot Your Local Pedophile” and “Dead Pedophiles Don’t Reoffend.”
“These and other statements on merchandise incite violence and therefore are not protected by the First Amendment,” stated ACSOL Executive Director Janice Bellucci.
Messages demanding that Etsy remove its anti-registrant merchandise from its website should be sent by email to [email protected]
It is important to note that the anti-registrant merchandise sold by Etsy is in violation of at least two of Etsy’s policies. First, there is an Etsy policy that bans items that “promote, support, or glorify violence.” Second, there is an Etsy policy that prohibits content on its website that “demeans, targets, or encourages harm against groups, regardless of protected-class status.”
In its email message to Etsy, ACSOL demanded the immediate removal of anti-registrant merchandise from the Etsy website. In addition, ACSOL stated that it would pursue all available legal remedies if that merchandise was not removed.

I sent a short email, and it only took a couple of minutes.

To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to urge Etsy to immediately remove merchandise currently being sold on its platform that promotes violence and targets a specific group of individuals.
The merchandise in question includes, but is not limited to, clothing and bumper stickers bearing messages such as “Shoot Your Local [people]” and “Dead [people] Don’t Reoffend.” These statements explicitly incite violence and death toward a targeted group, such messages incite violence and therefore are not protected by the First Amendment.
Importantly, this merchandise appears to be in direct violation of at least two of Etsy’s own policies:
The policy prohibiting items that “promote, support, or glorify violence.”The policy prohibiting content that “demeans, targets, or encourages harm against groups, regardless of protected-class status.”
I strongly encourage Etsy to act responsibly and remove this merchandise without delay. Allowing the continued sale of items that encourage violence exposes individuals to real-world harm and places Etsy at significant legal and ethical risk.
Thank you for your immediate attention to this serious matter. I look forward to confirmation that these items have been removed.

Maybe we could post a sample letter? I’m happy to post mine, but as a seller mine is geared towards that.
Dear Etsy Legal & Compliance Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing as a long-time Etsy seller and community member who has always valued the platform’s stated commitment to safety, inclusivity, and ethical commerce.
Recently, I have observed a concerning increase in anti-registrant merchandise being sold on the marketplace. I find this content deeply troubling, not only on a personal level, but also because it appears to violate Etsy’s own published policies.
Specifically:
1. Etsy’s policy prohibiting items that “promote, support, or glorify violence.”
A number of these listings explicitly endorse or encourage hostility toward registrants, which constitutes a form of promoted harm.
2. Etsy’s policy prohibiting content that “demeans, targets, or encourages harm against groups, regardless of protected-class status.”
These products clearly target a defined group of individuals, portraying them in a derogatory, hostile, or dehumanizing manner.
Given Etsy’s firm stance on safety and respectful participation, I respectfully request that the legal and policy teams review these listings, evaluate their compliance with Etsy’s rules, and take appropriate enforcement action.
As sellers, we rely on Etsy to uphold its policies consistently across the marketplace. Allowing merchandise that promotes harassment or harm undermines both community trust and the integrity of the platform.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I deeply appreciate the work you do to keep Etsy safe, fair, and welcoming for everyone. I am happy to provide specific listing examples upon request.
Warm regards,

Of course they don’t understand that pedophilia is only a psychological state, not a behavior. It’s not illegal. They are really talking about adult sexual contact with a minor. It is one of the iterations of Minor Attracted Person (pedophilia, hebephilia, ephebophilia). Current understanding is that this is probably inborn, like sexual orientation. There is effective coping therapy to help these people not ever offend. It is probably not “curable”, in the sense that sexual orientation is not “curable”. Focus should be on primary (first-time) offense prevention via affordable, effective, widely available, advertised, safe, confidential MAP therapy; not cleaning up the mess after someone offends. Better to prevent the first offense, not secondary offenses. Fewer children impacted.

It’s first, the legislature inciting this violence by creating the definition of a registrant, libelously defining it as something the world should live in fear of as long as it lives, and plastering that warning worldwide!
Etsy probably figures that if the government can promote this hate crime then so can they!
To show the mentality of the people that buy this stuff, I am in a 12 step program of recovery, there was a man and a woman that showed up at a meeting wearing these shirts. they were supposedly recovering drug addicts and. I wanted to point out to them that the drug trade has killed over 300,000 minors in America, how many have p*d*philes killed compared to that? I don’t know if they were selling or just using, but they were supporting the supply and demand. I wanted to point this out to them and then ask if they would like the same shirt about drug dealers, but I try to live by the principles of recovery and not bring that conflict into the meetings like they were doing. I mean, talk about lack of self awareness, but then again, society coddles drug users and makes them out to be victims of bad circumstances in life, anyone that has been locked up knows they are treated with respect in prison as if their choices haven’t done countless harm to minors.
I used the link you provided for Etsy to ask them to remove merchandise that promotes violence against registrants. They responded “Unfortunately, we can’t field this topic through email. You can report a listing or shop that may not comply with our policies, using the instructions in this Help Center article.”
This is just more evidence to submit that how normalized the hate and marginalizing has become.
The registry unequivocally fosters, encourages and PROMOTES a: “kill’em all and let God sort’em out” toxic narrative and climate for this nonsense.
When LGBQT or illegal immigrants are targeted, harrassed, itimidated and arrested, the media steps in to call foul and expose the issue, but when WE are targeted? Best they can do is crickets and pin drops.
THE MEDIA IS AFRAID OF HUMANIZING PEOPLE ON THE REGISTRY OUT OF FEAR OF RETALIATION AND BOYCOTTS.
Just imagine how fast “KILL YOUR LOCAL CEO” or “KILL YOUR LOCAL TRANS” shirts would come down if reported! Somedow they’re off limits, but we’re not? Also, when a registrant is killed, the media yawns, but we all saw how the media responsed with Luigi.

These items are morally repugnant because they advocate for the violent physical harm of persons […].
Furthermore, the anti-p*d*phile merchandise sold by Etsy is in violation of at least two of Etsy’s policies.
First, there is an Etsy policy that bans items that “promote, support, or glorify violence.” Second, there is an Etsy policy that prohibits content on its website that “demeans, targets, or encourages harm against groups, regardless of protected-class status.”
I have been reporting items for years. Even on other platforms I report them, and nothing happens. Nobody cares about the hate. Maybe a lawsuit would change things????
THOSE ARE TERRIBLE TSHIRTS
Spencer’s Gifts is selling shirts … [promoting criminal actions against us that could put them in prison for life] in their brick-and-mortar stores. Brand name is “A**holes Live F*rever”.

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to report this to Etsy’s Trust & Safety team. We don’t have an outcome to share with you at this time.
Our team reviews every member report we receive, and these reviews may take some time as we conduct a holistic review of the account. If we determine a listing or shop violates our policies, we’ll take action to enforce them.
We appreciate you helping us maintain the integrity of the Etsy marketplace.
Best,
Chad
