I’ll open December comments with a bill that passed both chambers of the IL legislature and was sent to the governor:

HB 576 prohibits governmental agencies and private entities from posting a public official’s personal information online if the official requests nondisclosure. The bill also amends the FOIA to exempt officials’ personal information and the Election Code to allow security-related expenses and mandate address redactions upon request. Additionally, the bill permits work addresses on identification cards and vehicle registrations instead of home addresses.

How nice for public officials.

So I get off of parole in SoCal in 3 months. I do feel skeptical. I guess I only got 3 years of parole even though when I was released they told me it would be 10. My PO showed me my digital file and sure enough it says I’m off in February. All the other guys in my group have 10 years or more of parole. So I am skeptical and I find it hard to get excited. I was charged with a burglary and a 220(a). Don’t. Know if that affects my parole length. Any insight on this would be helpful.

So, California, ‘must register within 5 working days of your birthday’.

My birthday is Dec 25. That falls on a Thursday. My local PD office only does registrations on Wednesdays and Thursdays. So… which days you guys think I’d be able to do it?

Obviously not on the 25th itself. Not sure if Christmas Eve counts as a business day. New Years Eve and Day are probably out also. That leaves the 17th and 18th. But would either work?

I’m sure this has come up before but I don’t recall how it worked out.

It sucks every year to have to do this… can’t make any holiday plans until I have made my appointment to go register. That trumps any other plans.

This is your friendly holiday reminder to mind your manners while at the office holiday party (especially while under the influence) AND…

Open wondering what her punishment is going to be considering here across the pond in the states, a male LEO doing this would be slammed with a termination letter, listed on the bad LEO list to prevent future hiring, public embarrassment, and whatever else including potential sex offense crime charges and registration as a Tier 1 or 2, if one choose to follow suit, while the PFRs would say the registry did not stop such actions by one in a position of trust (so get rid of the damn thing). I’d hope a female LE would suffer the same over here but…who knows.

Seasons Greetings,

Has anyone here got removed from Georgia? If not, do you know someone?

I have a cival trial for removal on the 18th. I’m doing this myself and I have no idea what to expect.

Best,

Can a civil remedy impose a criminal penalty?

No, a pure civil remedy doesn’t impose a criminal penalty (like jail time), as civil cases focus on compensation (money) or actions (injunctions), while criminal cases handle punishment for breaking laws. However, a single act can trigger both civil and criminal cases, and some civil penalties (like large fines or forfeitures) can be severe, but they aren’t “criminal” in nature unless prosecuted by the state in criminal court, though a civil case can lead to a criminal investigation if serious offenses are uncovered.

  • Key Differences:
  • Purpose: Civil cases resolve disputes between parties (e.g., compensation for harm); criminal cases punish offenses against society.

Equal Protection: The Fourteenth Amendment requires that the government treat similarly situated people in a similar manner. The government cannot create a law that makes a specific action a crime just for one group of citizens but not for another, unless there is a compelling, constitutionally permissible reason [3].In summary, the government can define behaviors as criminal through general legislation that applies fairly and equally to all citizens [1, 2]. It cannot, however, use its power to selectively criminalize an action for only “some citizens” without violating core constitutional rights and the rule of law [3].

WOW!

is it human nature to forget

Yes, it is human nature to forget; in fact, forgetting is a normal, active, and beneficial process that is essential for healthy cognitive function.
Forgetting is not a design flaw of the brain, but rather an adaptive feature that allows the brain to function efficiently and effectively.
Why Forgetting Is Essential

  • Mental Flexibility and Learning: Forgetting allows the mind to be flexible and open to new experiences and information. If you remembered every single detail, relevant or not, your brain would be “swamped with superfluous memories”. Forgetting outdated information, like an old password, helps prevent interference with new learning.
  • Focus and Prioritization: Forgetting acts as a filter, allowing the brain to focus on important information by discarding useless or irrelevant details. This process highlights the “signal through the noise”.
  • Emotional Well-being: The ability to forget helps individuals cope with painful or traumatic events by allowing the vivid, emotional details of bad memories to become less accessible over time, which eases pain and helps prevent conditions like PTSD from overwhelming daily life.
  • Creativity and Decision Making: By “lightening” the mind and unmooring us from an overload of memories, forgetting facilitates the kind of loose associations that fuel creativity.
  • Brain Efficiency: Researchers propose that forgetting is the brain’s default state, constantly working to clear out unnecessary information to make room for new data and facilitate error-free retrieval.

Types of Forgetting

  • Natural Forgetting: This is the everyday, normal process that occurs in healthy individuals, such as forgetting what you ate for dinner last week.
  • Pathological Forgetting: This is the result of brain injury or neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, which involve a corruption of the natural process.
  • Motivated Forgetting: This is a conscious or unconscious process where individuals actively work to suppress or block out distressing memories to reduce anxiety.

Ultimately, a balance between remembering and forgetting is critical for our overall well-being and ability to navigate the world effectively.

Yet the government made this a crime for PFR!

Failure (forgetting, is human nature) to perform a registration duty (that we have never been paid to perform) is a felony offense for PFR!

The law is inhumane, deeming PFR to be NON-HUMAN!

So there you have it. That’s why they treat us like shit, and mandate “duties” without pay! Only humans get paid for the duties they provide. Animals don’t!

is it human nature to forget

Yes, forgetting is a fundamental part of human nature and essential for a healthy, functional brain, not a flaw; it allows the brain to clear clutter, prioritize important information, enable creativity, and adapt by actively editing memories for better function, rather than storing everything literally.
Why forgetting is natural & beneficial

  • It’s an active process: The brain actively prunes and edits memories, a process that’s as crucial as storing them, suggesting forgetting might be the default state, says Quanta Magazine. (oh look, a magazine quote! Now SCOTUS must weigh this against”smith”)
  • Clears mental clutter: Forgetting useless details frees up space for new learning and abstract thought, preventing cognitive overload.
  • Aids creativity: It helps unmoor the mind from old patterns, allowing for new connections and creative insights, according to Mindful.org and Psychology Today.
  • Prioritizes information: It helps us focus on what’s relevant and important for survival and well-being, says Columbia University Psychiatry.

How memory works (and fails)

  • Memory is reconstructive: It’s not a perfect recording but is rebuilt each time, influenced by emotions, context, and motivations, making it prone to bias and distortion, notes Quora users.
  • We actively forget: We can consciously or unconsciously choose to forget things that are painful or irrelevant, explains Psychology Times UK.
  • Memory decay: Connections between neurons weaken over time if not reinforced, causing memories to fade unless they are significant, says Atelier NEORAH

HOW ON EARTH CAN SCOTUS ALLOW LEGISLATION TO EXIST THAT MAKES FAILURE TO DO ANYTHING A CRIME FOR CERTAIN PEOPLE?

THIS IS BEYOND VIOLATING THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL BOUND AND IS A MUCH GREATER CRIME TO HUMANITY THAN ANYTHING A REGISTRANT IS CAPABLE OF!

Pretty damn sure that the dehumanization of anyone clearly falls under “cruel and unusual punishment”, rather than “civil remedy” but I could be wrong…

Lol wait till I start camping against you 😭

“forgetting is a fundamental part of human nature and essential for a healthy, functional brain, not a flaw”

Unless you are held captive as a PFR, then your “fundamental nature” is a felony offense!

everyday failures of memory should not be taken personally or taken to heart. We forget a lot, naturally. Most forgetting is part of healthy memory functioning.
Forgetting can be frustrating. It leads to disappointing performance on exams. It forces us to retrace our steps or spend hours looking for a misplaced item. At times, it may embarrass us. But forgetting is necessary. It allows us to experience the world more fully and immediately. It helps us manage the painful events in our lives. And it encourages us to remember what’s important”

The necessity of human life that PFR are deprived of by law!

So, how many of you have also realized that the scammers/ con artists targeting us are actually from within Law Enforcement?

Just curious

Just read that in Hinds County MS there are people who have been arrested and put in jail, andthree months later many have never been indicted, and some in the jail have been there with more than a year with no indictment.

Since when is it constitutional to arrest and put someone in jail for months and more than a year with no indictment? This scares me that the gov can just arrest anyone they want and put them in jail indefinitely with no evidence of a crime, and especially scares me as a pfr.

I know this might sound dumb but, if Gislaine Maxwell can get placed into a Minimum Security prison with multiple victims, ( with several years ahead of her to serve in Max ? ) perhaps its time to ask this President to just end Lifetime Registry ( especially when its been added onto a sentence ) If he is so worried about costs, the Registry adds Millions to the budget. People go to court and work things out, agree to terms, serve their time, and then these arbitry laws are added on ?? This has got to be UnConstitutional – a sentence is a sentence and should be honored, right ? I just cant believe that this can be done to people ! There should be a period at the end of a sentence. This Mother is angry today – please forgive me…

Does anyone know if after being removed it gets any easier to qualify to rent an apt and/or buy a condo in a building that does background checks on prospective buyers? Thank you.

Just look up this article about an “Army doctor accused of secretly recording patients is in a Texas jail” and wonder how the registry helped the alleged 75 victims who are now represented in the OB/GYN post hospital office of a person in a position of legal matter. Sick on both accounts of those registered and those who are alleged victims of the person in question.

I have a question, looking for suggestions. This has probably been asked and answered before, but . . . Has anyone, or everyone, had dealings or contacts with ” https://mugshots.com/ “?? I have attempted on numerous occasions requesting for them to remove my name from their site. They flat refuse. In addition, they will not return or answer any of my correspondences to them. Any suggestions, or are we just have no chance with the group. Thank you in advance for any help and ideas

I was summoned for jury duty recently. I had to explain my situation and I was told I don’t have to report and my request to be dismissed was granted. Unlike the public I’m impartial no matter what a person’s charges.

I have been watching lectures from various advocates that have been posted in video on YouTube. Just now, I watched Emily Horowitz speak. I feel relieved when those speakers stand up and speak in support of people like me including me. I am strongly encouraging all people on the registry to stay strong in heart and keep showing the public that we are people, not predators. We just have a problem, and we are doing the work we need to do to prevent acting inappropriately.

Human Trafficking Data Collection Activities, 2024 (BJS, Oct 2024)

Description

This report details ongoing and completed efforts to measure and analyze the nationwide incidence of human trafficking, to describe characteristics of human trafficking victims and defendants, and to describe criminal justice responses to human trafficking offenses. The report provides information on human trafficking investigated and prosecuted by U.S. attorneys, human trafficking defendants convicted and sentenced to federal prison, and admissions to state prison for human trafficking.

Highlights

A total of 1,912 persons were referred to U.S. attorneys for human trafficking offenses in fiscal year 2022, a 26% increase from the 1,519 persons referred in 2012.    The number of persons prosecuted for human trafficking more than doubled from 2012 to 2022 (from 805 to 1,656 persons). The number of persons convicted of a human trafficking offense increased from 578 persons in 2012 to 1,118 persons in 2022. Of the 1,070 defendants charged with any of the three types of human trafficking offenses in U.S. district court in fiscal year 2022, 91% were male, 58% were white, 20% were black, 18% were Hispanic, 95% were U.S. citizens, and 71% had no prior convictions.  Of the 203 defendants charged with peonage, slavery, forced labor, and sex trafficking, 69% were male and 53% were black. In comparison, of the 523 defendants charged with sexual exploitation and other abuse of children, 94% were male and 71% were white. Source: Bureau of Justice Stats

I know a woman in prison for drugs and a guard repeatedly asked her to expose her breasts and pleasure herself in front of him. That guard in my opinion should be on a list for not being able to control his urges and being a great candidate for a government job: crayon used for his application and missing a few fries from his happy meal.

How Do People End Up on the Sex Offense Registry?
Surprisingly, some are added for actions that many wouldn’t expect, such as:
·  Downloading explicit content or taking nude photos of oneself
·  Consensual sexual activity between minors
·  Innocent physical contact—like hugging a child in a way someone deems inappropriate
·  Public acts like mooning, flashing, or even urinating in public.

CBP Agents Held This U.S. Citizen for Hours Until He Agreed To Let Them Search His Electronic Devices (Reason, 11 Dec 2025)

This is concerning and the orders which should be defied by those at CBP. Will a PFR travelmate suffer through this or anyone in the family who is traveling with the PFR? It is already bad enough PFRs have to suffer through this by court opinion without recourse because of poor thinking.

Is failure to perform duties once in a while a fundamental part of human nature?

Failure to perform duties occasionally is widely considered to be a natural and fundamental aspect of the human condition, rather than a sign of a character flaw [1, 4].
Key perspectives supporting this view include:

  • Cognitive Limitations Humans have inherent limitations in attention, memory, and cognitive load. Even with the best intentions, it is impossible to be perfectly focused and efficient 100% of the time.
  • The Role of Stress and Emotion Performance is significantly impacted by emotional states, stress, fatigue, and personal life events [1, 3]. These factors are universal human experiences that inevitably affect consistency in fulfilling obligations.
  • Learning and Growth Errors and failures are essential opportunities for learning, adaptation, and developing resilience [3]. Acknowledging occasional failure allows for reflection and improvement.
  • Biological Rhythms Humans are biological organisms subject to natural energy cycles, the need for rest, and susceptibility to illness, all of which interfere with consistent performance [3, 4].

From psychological and philosophical viewpoints, perfect consistency is an unrealistic ideal. Occasional lapses in duty are an acknowledgment of human fallibility and an integral part of a complex, imperfect existence [1, 4].

Does the legislative branch of government have the authority to impose criminal penalties on fundamental human nature?

In the United States, the legislative branch does not have the authority to impose criminal penalties on fundamental human nature or inherent status, due to constitutional limits. Laws must prohibit specific, voluntary conduct (an act or an omission) and generally require a culpable mental state (mens rea), rather than simply existing as a natural condition or status.

Natural human nature requires the ability to occasionally fail duties.

The government has criminalized this fundamental aspect of human nature by imposing felony penalties ONLY against PFR, legislatively de-humanizing these by provision of the law, because no human is capable of being 100% efficient!

AND no human is required to perform duties to the state without pay, under threat of felony penalty!

The government legislatively created non-human PRF creatures to serve the state’s interest for free!

So, SCOTUS, Is it cruel and unusual punishment to take away someone’s human status based on a past offense?

Criminalizing human nature… eye crimes… victimless crimes… What’s next?

PFR = legislatively created agent of the state

State agents get paid to provide “duties” for the state’s interest!
