TX: ‘Caught in the middle’: Raymondville police helped by, but can’t encourage, online predator hunters

RAYMONDVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — On Thursday, Raymondville police arrested Christian Tijerina, who now faces 15 counts of possession of child pornography. Authorities were called to Tijerina’s residence after the online group Predator Poachers confronted him there.

“We’re caught in the middle,” said Sgt. Detective Denise Gomez with the Raymondville Police Department.

Gomez specializes in child sex abuse cases and has spent the last eight years on a Child Exploitation Task Force with Homeland Security Investigations.

As a mother, Gomez said she supports the mission of Predator Poachers to stop child exploitation, which she called “the worst of the worst crimes ever.” However, as a law enforcement officer, she can’t encourage it.

“We don’t give them promises or blackmail them, obviously,” Rosen said. “You just have to sell them that, ‘Hey, saying this will separate you from what you have going on. Basically, you just got to kind of sell them and manipulate them into answering. I call it grooming the groomers.”

Rosen again. Can’t help but wonder how much of the CP this guy was charged with was sent by Rosen in the first place. If any, Rosen should be charged as well.

Rosen would make a great Proctor from the Police Academy movies always there, screws everything for LE, and is a dummy.
