Keeva Rossow is one of hundreds of women who have been punished for purported “child abuse” of a fetus — despite giving birth to a healthy baby.
Keeva Rossow had no idea when she arrived at an Idaho hospital to give birth in December 2021 that she may not leave with her daughter.
Shortly after Rossow gave birth, a social worker stopped by her hospital room and asked a series of questions, including if she had used controlled substances while pregnant. She told the social worker that she had used THC, or marijuana, for pregnancy-related nausea. Her morning sickness was so severe she had started losing weight, which she knew wasn’t healthy for her or her pregnancy, and the anti-nausea medication her doctor prescribed hadn’t helped.
Rossow didn’t think much of it at the time. The questions felt routine, and she assumed her answers were protected under medical privacy laws, according to Rossow’s attorney, Rick Hearn, whom HuffPost interviewed for this story.
She gave birth to a perfectly healthy baby girl.
Later, as she was recovering, a worker from Child Protective Services and a uniformed police officer came to Rossow’s hospital room. They told her that because she had admitted to prenatal drug use she would be placed on the Idaho Child Protection Central Registry ― the state government’s list of people substantiated for child abuse, neglect or abandonment. This is great news! We need more stupid registries. I wonder what the punishment is for not registering on their precious moments idol registry? 5 yrs in prison for not updating her work address in 3 days? Will she have to get a mugshot every 3 months and pay a fee for the privalage of being on their hitlist? If she lives in an apartment will she be evicted? Eventually the entire registry schemes will come crashing down. This is beyond insane. But if it adds to the hysteria of registry insanity, then I say bring it on!
Another useless registry in the state for Famous Potheads ( I mean Potatoes). It would be different if her baby was born higher than a kite or drunk as a politicians lust for power.
problem is she spoke to GOVERNMENT WORKES CPS, NEVER TALK To them people just like the police DO NOT ENGAGE EVER…(I even got advice from janice directly…. when thugs come out to check on where i live(im off paper)… DO NOT EVEN answer the door !!!!! anyways,,, they arent healthcare workers, no privacy medical protection.
