SHARPSVILLE, Pa. (WKBN) – A pastor in Sharpsville committed a crime long ago. Because of it, his church has been expelled from a prestigious national organization.
The church is West Side Baptist, which was “disfellowshipped” last week by the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention, the largest Baptist and Protestant denomination in the United States.
The church is located on East Main Street in Sharpsville. It was expelled or disfellowshipped because of its pastor David Pearson.
…
The statement from West Side Baptist also claimed that “Pastor David Pearson has fully complied with all the laws of Pennsylvania and is not required to register as a sex offender.”

Nadine Rolison and Angelia – who are these two people anyway and what do they have to do with this article? The article just states their names and statements and does not say what affiliation if any these two women have with the church. I guess who interviewed these two women went around asking people for their opinion if this pastor should remain at the church and the interviewer only selected statements made from people that felt he should not be the pastor. That’s because it makes this look so much more nasty than it is.
The news will be showing very soon I am sure that this pastor stepped down just to take the focus off the church. Just like the fire chief that had to resign who was a sex offender in Penn last year. Will this crap ever end?
The congregation practice the teaching of Christ, unlike the “leaders” of the convention kicking out the church because the pastor has a crime in his past. I wonder how many of these do gooders live in glass houses. If only the banishment of registrants would be a part of cancel culture.
“Pastor David has gone from disgrace to amazing grace and now has served the Lord Jesus Christ at West Side for 18 years.”
So the guy had been pastor at that church for nearly two decades without incident before the leaders of the SBC decided to expel the congregation. I’m thinking maybe it took them that long to figure out how to spell “disfellowship.”
I admit I know next to nothing about church hierarchy, but they strike me as being similar to home owners associations. If so, I’d be willing to bet this church is better off – no more annual dues returning nothing but condescension and dictatorship.
