NY: When sex offender moved in, neighbors petitioned to force him out

Danielle Marocco readily admits feeling a huge sense of relief when she noticed the “For Sale” sign on the lawn of a new neighbor.

That’s because she and others along a quiet suburban street in East Glenville fear the resident, a paroled Level 3 sex offender who victimized a boy, might hurt other young children. “We just love the area, we love the neighborhood — in the summertime the ice cream truck goes by,” said Marocco, who has lived on the street with her husband and their children since February. “This isn’t our dream house, but it’s our dream neighborhood.”

In 2006, the man at the center of the furor was charged in Warren County by State Police with one count of first-degree criminal sexual contact with a 12-year-old boy he knew, according to the state Division of Criminal Justice Services and the state Department of Corrections and Community Services.

The agencies’ online information indicates he pleaded guilty to the offense in May 2007 and was sentenced to 14 years in prison with five years of post-release supervision. He was released to parole supervision in June 2019 and for a time lived in Schenectady before purchasing the split ranch home in Glenville, according to online sources and county real estate records.

The 1,534-square-foot residence is now on the market with a list price of $265,000.

A couple of interesting things:
(1) They did not use the registrant’s name in the article. That is very rare and progressive!
(2) The political dynamics during Republican and Democratic-held time periods on an anti-registrant bill mentioned in the article

Meh, this is just more “sex offender” idiocy.

These “neighbors” think that forcing one person out of their neighborhood changes the risk somehow. It doesn’t. And since they apparently love their big government Oppression Lists (OLs) then that means that they are not good parents and some of their children will thus later be victimized. Then perhaps they’ll understand that they were wrong to care about their OLs. Oh well. It’s much better to harass people doing nothing instead of trying to protect your children. That takes work.

I love how “neighbor” Amelia Mindel said, “We’re not trying to do a witch hunt or a target. It’s more like, what are the actual laws?” Too funny. Sure, we’ll take your word for it. Except that you are conducting a witch hunt and you Karens did get your way. I wish we could force Karens out of neighborhoods.

The article reported that another “neighbor” named Mike Cusano launched an online petition on change.org titled #NotInMyNeighborhood. Gosh, so that is “NIMN”, why didn’t he just go with the much better understood “NIMBY”? Probably could’ve attracted more Karens. He means “NIMBY, but instead in YOUR back yard”. Awesome “neighbor”, awesome person.

Decades ago I lived in crappy “neighborhoods” like this. People told me the “neighbors” harassed my family because they were “scared” and similar nonsense. It wasn’t that. They were just plain, typical scumbags. They said they were “scared” so I said “good, you deserve to be.” That is exactly what they deserve. To be scared, upset, and negatively affected.

What I also like is that everyone would be just fine with this guy if all he did was break into his previous neighbors’ homes in the middle of the night and beat their whole families nearly to death. Or got in an argument with his last neighbor and shot her. Or drove drunk one afternoon across the front yard of a neighbor and “accidentally” murdered one of their children. All of that is fine. Because SEX.

And of course the scumbag criminal legislators like Senator Jim Tedisco (R) think more “laws” are needed. Despite the fact that the current ones are worthless and worse. Meh, facts exist to be ignored.

I didn’t see any place to comment on this article. That’s too bad because I had a couple of things to say.

Wage war on these terrorists.

with a 12-year-old boy he knew

Once again, it’s familiarity and proximity that are where to look, not on a government hit list!
