On February 17, the first gathering of local registrants, family and friends assembled in Nipomo, San Luis Obispo County. The CA RSOL members there intend to meet regularly to enjoy a space that welcomes all to the educational process of CA RSOL. The 10 attendees shared food and in-depth discussions regarding the registry and how to encourage other registrants into forming similar gatherings. These mobilizations will help to build the CA RSOL movement into a cohesive organization that can address any issue confronting our livelihood as citizens of this state. In mass and in real time we will be the force able to facilitate change that will serve us all well.
How we are doing this: (1) a willing registrant and his wife offered their home as a secure meeting site, (2) additional registrants and host sat down to pick a date, time and menu for first meeting, (3) registrants invited other registrants, their families and friends via phone or in person, (4) on the day of the event, we just showed up.
Just that simple. Now there are 10 people excited about our March get together. What did we do at the February meeting? (1) share knowledge about success achieved already by our statewide coordinator and update on tiered registry bill that CA RSOL is advocating for this year, (2) shared great food from the barbeque of our gracious host and his wife, (3) shared our stories, (4) shared thoughts on how we could help the organization grow and prosper, and (5) shared a day being normal!
We showed up and we shared the registry experience because we’re all in this together and together we can bring the light of education to those that live in the darkness of fear. We are all responsible for helping ourselves to a more enriching life. Mobilize now for our future! The next meeting in Nipomo will take place on March 24.

I don’t have words that are so eloquently written, like so many others, but know this … my heart Is in the same place as all. Thank you for the dedication to helping the registrants, who no longer have any business being in the situation they are … And, I believe that together we can teach/reach one person at a time, especially in our own circles “of trust” … Which I have been doing for the last 2.5 years … And I’ve seen it make a difference in my own circle. One person at a time. Like I wrote, not so eloquent, not so educated but … From the heart I will continue to share one person at a time …

Glad to hear this was a success for you. We have wanted to do the same in San Diego, but so far have not been successful. Hopefully, people will start to get rid of their fears enough to join us. Power in numbers…working together

I understand all too well.
I am a family member of a registrant, and know there are too many who feel the way you do. Fear, trust issues, etc., we all feel it, but without people like Janice, her board, and people willing to educate and help, we will remain stuck in this nightmare.
We have a small group here trying to fight for our constitutional rights. Janice or Frank can get you, or a family member, in touch with me (us).
I live near Sacramento. It would be great if a large group of us could meet and show up in large numbers on the steps at the capitol and all the legislators offices, demanding our rights be restored and that we recieve the respect that all humans deserve. Public announcement that a group of RSO’s is marching the streets does not sound safe, but I know there are things we can do that would minimize that risk.
This is a great idea and it would have to be a REALLY Large group, especially if there is a press release announcing the planned gathering. Too small and we’ll look like a modern day Klan rally, out numbered 10-to-1 by the opposition.
