‘The Dr Phil Show’ uncovers new form of vigilantism by ‘pedophile hunters’ who ‘honeytrap’ child molesters and publicly shame them

[meaww.com – 12/11/19]

Wednesday’s episode of ‘The Dr. Phil Show’ featured a unique phenomenon. Vigilante “pedophile-hunters” are a thing. Dr. Phil described it as a “controversial form of vigilantism that law enforcement is just not in favor of.”

What these hunters, who are regular citizens, do is they bait potential child molesters to arrive at a certain location. They then catch them on camera and post their details online. One of these so-called pedophile-hunters is a man called Tony.

A survivor of childhood sexual abuse, Tony founded the “Team Loyalty Makes You Family” group on Facebook. A plumber by day, Tony live-streams his encounters with people who he believes are child molesters.

Speaking on the show, he said, “Law enforcement is a joke when it comes to this.” He added, “There’s a problem with the system.” Tony further said that he loves his nightly escapades. “I love doing what I do. It’s almost like being a superhero,” he said.

Authorities are not happy with this vigilantism. In a letter issued to the show, Captain Greg McLean from the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit of the Post Falls, Idaho, police said of another such “pedophile hunter” Jesse, the founder of the online group “Hunted & Confronted” that, “Jesse does not have the skills or ability to successfully build a case against alleged predators.”

The “DR” Phil show, he’s not really a doctor btw is what’s wrong with America. Sensationalist nonsense like that needs to be put off the air.

The thing is that if I did this for, say, people speeding or texting while driving or people leaving a bar an getting in their car then their would be outrage and I would immediately get a cease and desist order from law enforcement. But since people on the registry are the minority group that is approved for harassment and persecution then this is ok. But this is not new. To Catch a Predator show was done by non law enforcement. They would set people up and then contact the news and law enforcement once they set people up. These cowards would never try this with drug dealers selling drugs to children because there would be risk of violent retaliation. It is pretty much understood that people on the registry are compliant and non violent, that is why they are a target group by vigilantes as well as law enforcement, they are easy game.

“I love doing what I do. It’s almost like being a superhero,” he said.

This pretty much sums up this pathetic loser’s life. He’s a blue collar underachiever with a hero complex. Let’s see how much a super hero he is when one of his victims confronts him with a Mossberg.

Please take the time to report these accounts. They violate the Terms of Service of YouTube, Facebook, etc. especially where law enforcement has actually stated that these vigilante groups not only endanger people, but make it difficult for police to do their jobs. Any form of vigilantism creates a significant risk of violence to all the parties involved.

I just reported the “Hunted & Confronted” YouTube channel for child endangerment since that is exactly what they are doing by interfering with law enforcement’s ability to do their work. I also reported their Facebook page.

This is a feel good story. Most people gossip and point out others weaknesses or issues to avoid focusing on their own issues! I bet 1000000000/1 this guy has issues of his own!
