FL: Letter to the Editor: Sex offender registry issue needs to be addressed

Source: nwfdailynews.com 9/2/21

As a counselor in the state of Florida, I think it’s time to address challenges concerning social media and illegal sex with minors, and the growing number of designated sex offenders in our state (356/100K – total 76,000 in Florida – 800K nationally).

All sex offenders are not child molesters. Pedophiles and rapists are.

The US Bureau of Justice reports the average age of a sex offender is 14! Policemen, prosecutors, and judges need to stand up against this bad law. It’s the only law that allows continued punishment after sentencing is served.

An educational solution for students about Florida laws against engaging in underage sex is urgent.

This sounds familiar ” Americas most wanted” are now our kids? Thanks John Walsh

Thank you! We are moving in the right direction; however slowly.

There’s a cliche that says, “The best way to break bad law is to enforce 100%.”

I do like how the article ended by comparing what was okay decades ago, but would have destroyed a life today.

It seems to me electronic imperialism is the real issue. All of the world is experiencing it. Sex offenders were just the first to have their individual sovereignty (needs) sold out to (indentured) the machines’ maintenance. Humans can be conscripted! Whether human can defend themselves against indoctrination is a matter of plain human volition. Far more crimes have been enabled via its unfettered use. Smith v Doe, guaranteed it! US Sec 230 eased the liabilities threat. They’ve been spreading the cash around too.

Interesting comments:
“All sex offenders are not child molesters. Pedophiles and rapists are.” Huh? 🤷🏻‍♂️
If a diagnosed pedophile does not engage in sexual activity with a minor, he is not a sexual offender nor a child molester. And if a rapist only attacked adults, then how is that individual a child molester? That comment indicates some lazy thinking.

First I would like to know what a counselor is today, is it the one that out thinks the other or is the one that stands behind the constitution or his or her beliefs, or those stooges that get into all this magnetic ink jumbo. One might even say Train up a Children in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. Maybe one should say, what is Woman? Correction starts at home. Labeling someone is a bit demonic. Believe it or not some of the best counselors today couldn’t even graduate gramer school. Even Einstein didn’t even finish school. Think on that one?

Sure some chose different paths, some even try to out think, or out smart the other person. I’m sure the topic is about educating so whats to educate the laws of the jungle or the laws of human nature? Sure everyone can give a theory of relativity or some excuse of plausable understanding but discussion aside its all in the bible or is their too many hands in the cookie jar in government, counselling, school sex education, or other ethical issues today.

I will agree that letters to the editor are good as government needs to clean up their mess and use right measures and not deceptive measures, this internet needs to be cleaned up. I don’t have stock in the internet jargon that floats around to impress others or try and snag one by hook or crook. If one uses things right all is well. Its when abuse gets out of hand than someone has to call time out and that’s were constitutional law comes in and principals. Mankind has always wanted to use their power. One wonders why Rome fell to,
